is a corair h75 a corsair h60 with a extra fan ? - Page 2

I would also spend the extra $30 or so dollars on the H100i. I used one in a system recently (mitx A10-7850k build) and it did a pretty good job at keeping temperatures at a very comfortable level. If you spent the extra money on a 4770k over the 4670k, I'd definitely not skimp out on a good cooling solution.

Since you got a 4770K i'd spring for the H80i or better as said (if you go CLC), they can get pretty darn warm when you OC.
Only reason I have a H60 right now is because I had it lying around and hadn't had a chance to push my chip yet.

Securemount systems are great for tower coolers indeed, love working with them.

D14 is also a clunky mammoth honker of a HSF thgough.
They have the U14S which performs within a few C and isn't dual tower, I'd go with that if space saving or aesthetics are at all a remote concern.

my case is the cooler master 690 2 advanced case I have x2 top fan mounts for a 240mm and 280mm radiator but I am not sure if there is enough space for the thickness of the radiator with the fans attached to it . I know that some people have problems installing the h100i if the 8 pin power connector is placed to high up on the motherboard . and if I got the h100i how should I install the fans on it ? as exhaust or intake . I have my case set up now with a front 140mm intake a side 120mm intake blowing on the graphics cards a 80mm intake fan behind the motherboard a 140mm exhaust on the top and a 120mm exhaust on the back

What motherboard do you have? Additionally, I would put the fan in a "push configuration" on the radiator, meaning that the fans will be push air through the radiator and then out the top of your case. This way, your fans will be working in a manner they were more designed to accommodate.

If it was up to me, and you had the extra $60 to spend, I'd invest it in a closed waterloop over a bulky (and heavy) air cooler. Motherboard wise, I have personally dealt with the MSI Z87 GD65 -- it's a good board. However, I'm kinda partial to the ROG series boards, especially if overclocking.

Why not keep the cooler you have? or is your current system different?
I would still get air cooling over CLC.

is the msi z87 gd65 the board you have now ? the thermaltake nic c5 is not a heavy cpu cooler it is called the untouchable cpu cooler because it fits on a motherboard with any kind of ram and it can be installed before mounting the motherboard to the case easily

I used the GD65 in a build for my buddy. How much overclocking do you plan on doing? If not much, than an air cooler would not be a bad choice.
