Trying to create on a tablet is an exercise in frustration and is much more productive on a PC.

As long as you know the limitations going in, tablets are great.

They are also totally locked down for the most part so no browser choices or add ons like adblock or what-have-you.
I am aware that I can't do everything so I won't put my expectation that high. tongue.gif Thanks! thumb.gif

Oh *****. That didn't come out correctly. LOL. Sorry for the confusion. Yes. I meant stream from PC to tablet. I don't see the reason why would anyone stream video from tablet to pc. biggrin.gif

I had this thought before but I don't think I can justify the cost to what I am going to use it for. The typical price of windows 8 tablet to the tablet that I am looking at probably will cost me 1.2 - 1.5x more expensive. Plus if I decided to get the tablet, I can get it on 24 months plan with from 1 of the AUS telcos so I can use 4G as well. Thanks for the suggestion. smile.gif

Recently got a Nexus 7 just for browsing and some videos.

That's about it.

Might even be less impactful if I had a cellphone (would probably get a Note 3).

I can't wait for a 1200p, 8", 4 GB RAM and slightly beefier processor, full Windows tablet with a Wacom pen.

Imagine something like a Lenovo thinkpad 8 with a Wacom digitizer.

I still keep going back to my PC for power browsing.

I bought one especially for web surfing and youtube when I don't feel like sitting up at my PC and that may be lazy but I don't care tongue.gif

Also they are fantastic for manga if you are into that!

Got a first gen Nexus 7. Have to say a tablet great when you don't want to carry around a big laptop while traveling. So far I use it for reading, browsing, youtube, puzzle games, photos, and videos. Though, kind of wish they get better battery life in these things.

when tablets first came out i didn't really see much of a use for them. but now that they are advancing i'm starting to really look into something like the surface pro 2.

i REALLY like the idea of having something as capable as a laptop but half the size and weight. Now that i'm able to be in school full time this semester i can see having one as being extremely beneficial. Having full windows 8.1 and microsoft office for all my school work and being able to take notes and such. Also so much of the school stuff is starting to be online and with the stylus interface i can do all my homework right there or take my notes. But i think i still prefer old fashioned pen and paper but i may run by best buy or something and see how i like it in person. and i can get a big flash drive to keep all my stuff on if needed. or a couple of them for other stuff so i don't have to buy the more expensive 512gb model. wonder how well it would game? LOL

I have been enjoying my Windows 8 Dell Venue Pro 64GB tablet.

Full x86 pc in tablet form with 2GB ram... and true stylus with pressure sensitivity which has been great for all the notes I take at work.

I purchased a bluetooth mouse and keyboard for it as I take some development code from home to work and use as reference sometimes and mouse/keyboard is a must when using Visual Studio.

1280x800 resolution and a great Dell screen, first tablet I haven't regretted buying and I've bought a ton (Nook Color, Kindle Fire, Nexus 7 FHD etc).

Hey all. Sorry for gone missing. Had to work and its near our end of quarter + year end so it is starting to get hectic. From the replies so far, I can say that if you want or focus more on productivity, windows 8 tablet is the way to go. The cons with that for me is: 1. it is pretty similar to buying a laptop but with more convenience. 2. it is still more ex than a tablet. I think the reason why I am looking at this is more to leisure with browsing, streaming, a little bit of games and work. Now I need to try the media streaming from pc to my S4. biggrin.gif Like mentioned before that I am really interested in xperia z2 tablet. What do you guys think of it? I know that no one owns it yet but what can be the pros or cons with it. Probably is there any contender that I need to check?

OMG That seems awesome!

Too bad I ain't rich frown.gif

Here's what I was thinking:

Around $ 499.99 (Q4 2014 or 2015)

Windows 8 Full
8 inch 1920 x 1200 IPS
Pentium/Celeron (We're still at Atom with the price point I can afford)
4 GB RAM
64 GB Capacity
MicroSD slot
GPS (not just for LTE version like Android WiFi only devices)
HDMI Out
2 USB ports (one for charging, either could be 2.0 or 3.0)
7 Hours roughly
Wacom Pen
etc.

I really hope someone makes that soon.. Maybe Asus since they're the one with the Wacom VivoTab Note 8 and Dell's using something different.. Maybe Lenovo?

Gah! I'm excited LOL
