Low profile cooler for FX-8320

I need something under 90mm, because the PSU sits on top of the motherboard in my case (Thermaltake Urban SD1).

I have a Cooler Master GeminII M4 which I can get hold of for free, and I was also looking at the Vortex Plus.

This is my motherboard https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M5A78LM_LX_V2/ with 2 Corsair Vengeance Pro ram sticks

The Vortex does fine cooling a stock 125w Phenom. An overclocked Phenon though, melts a hole right through it. It may be enough for a stock FX. Never tried it.
I would go with the GeminII.

Sent using my ****ty phone.

Thanks for the info, the stock cooler is really rubbish when any load is put on the CPU.

BTW how does the 7850 match up with your 8320? Did you have to overclock it at all?

I overclocked the card as soon as I got it biggrin.gif.
To be honest, the card is a bit too much for the FX8320 at stock. I did not see much of a performance increase compared to when I had the card paired with a Phenom 965 (4GHz core, 2.8GHz NB). Once I clocked the FX to at least 4GHz then I really started to enjoy everything the card had to offer.

That's interesting, I thought it would be able to handle even a 7950 but I guess I am going to have to overclock it a little bit at least. Thanks for all the useful info.
