Is this a gpu or monitor problem?

Thread Starter
Every so often while gaming on my Gigabyte 780TI and QNIX monitor I get the following screen which forces me to restart my computer to get rid of it, is this likely a gpu or monitor problem?
It also does it in games which aren't very demanding like League of Legends, I thought it might be a unstable gpu overclock but at stock speeds it still gives me the same screen every now and then.

If you haven't already, I'd start with uninstall/re-install of all nvidia software/drivers

Have you tried unplugging/replugging the display cable when it happens?

If that suddenly gets the display working again, at least it would rule out the gpu and would mean faulty display or cable

Hey guys the problem appeared again, I disconnected and reconnected the DVI cable but it still had the same screen, so this means a GPU problem correct?

The problem is I didn't backup my original BIOS when I did the bios flash for the volt mod, don't retailers check on the BIOS version when you return something? mad.gif

It might be gpu.

Do you have another display to test it out on?

- How are the temps ?
- Is the monitor OC'ed ?
- did you try another DVI-D port on the card?
- Have you tested it with an HDMI connection?
- You can find your original Bios if you ask for it here.

Something similar happened to me way back in the day with my 8800GTX. The cause was an unstable memory overclock.
