Hey all

I am currently looking for a fun muck about online game and these 3 really appealed to me ...

The problem is that I have limited funds and a 4mbps internet connection which isn't exactly ideal ... ...

Which do you guys think is the better game and why ??

Regards.

i have dayZ, have barely put any hours into yet tho as its state is fairly unremarkable, & i never played the mod so would be a complete noob. also intend to play solo so it'll be a time sink if i get aruond to it.

no interest in rust, but thats just me personally. its ugly & that bothers me.

i am curious about nether. it looks nice & i've been tempted a couple times but decided not to bother, somewhat ashamedly b/c i just never hear anything about it, which admittedly doesnt lend the best impression.

DayZ. Once you find a backpack, axe and a rifle or pistol, you should be able to enjoy it for quite a while, at least until your stomach starts to grumble, and you always have to keep an eye out for wells and containers. Even if you found a weapon and have no ammo for it, you could still use it to intimidate some passerby players.

I've got all three

Day-Z - not played that much of it. Lovely looking , but nothing to do. You just run around a forest aimlessly. As soon as Zombies start chasing you , you're basically ****ed

Rust - Again not really played much of it. They need to figure out what kind of game they want because at the moment it's not really a game. Craft stuff and avoid getting killed by ********s. Although it's the first time in my life I've had a Frenchman come up to me and ask to smell my butt

Neither - There is a game in here somewhere but they way they are going they want it to be like Day-z but in a massive lovely looking city. Reminds me a bit of FO3. Just need to get away from the MMO type stuff. Lots of ********s too

So yeah , none of them really at the moment

IMHO - Rust

I own both DayZ (SA) and Rust, cant speak for Nether.

Rust is great for just screwing around or if you want to get a little more serious build a house and perform some raids thats great fun as well.

DayZ on the other hand is IMO completely full of people KOS'ing for no good reason and when you do happen to find a friendly there isnt any damn loot to be had... so IMO Dayz is still to early in its life to enjoy fully (atleast how i would like to/ unless you have a massive group to play with)

edit: heres a piece of evidence for you: looking at my origin profile i have about 70 hours logged in BF4 which includes the campaign.

looking at my steam profile i have a lame 12 hours logged in DayZ and ... 124hours logged in Rust.

i own all 3, and i actually run a rust server. community and working together actually becomes big on rust, ive actually created a settlement of about 5 people including myself, we share resources, food do raids of other towns and radiated areas together and split loot. you actually make friends rather quickly. i ran a 40 slot at first, and people have been group paying the last 2 months for a 60 slot. i havent invested a cent since the initial startup, and the improvements to the game are slowly getting better.

nether is a very much so. 3x as challenging dayz in an urban enviroment. and if you die your gear is gone. you cant go get it back. that adds to the challenge.

the dayz standalone is well.... a very minimal work in progress. i got all the lott findable on the map in under 2 hours.

What exactly is KOS'ing ??

So from what I can gather ...

Nether: is full of not so friendly people and is much more challenging in the sense that the server always has more action in it ... Obviously it is early in the games development but so far it is sounding like a not so crowded map on modern-day FPS ... (no real friendlies just shoot shoot shoot)

DayZ: If the mod is anything to go by the game has massive potential but the game as it stands now is like a search for items lucky packet full of campers and * insert creative words here *

Rust: Has potential, has a friendlier crowd than the other 2 games (if on the right server) ... has crafting, killing and even with a small map some semi decent exploring raiding ?

Does that sound about right ?

Rust is a good one if you like farming. i had fun with it bt after awhile if you don't have a clan or find a good server it can get very mundane. As for dayz it was fun yet after awhile it turned into running simulator 2014. and just when you get some good gear someone that server hps pops out and kills you. i took a look at nether and it looks interesting but not sure if i would play that one.

very good description on al three games. to me rust is by far the best choice currently out of all of them.

I played DayZ and Rust and I seem to like DayZ more IMO.

Look for a group to play with and keep playing with them, and it will be more fun, and even serious depending on who you play with.

Nether looks interesting too tho.

But remember those games are still in Beta, so it won't be a perfect game play.
