intel i5-3570k overclock help

Thread Starter
My board is a z77 extreme 4 and I have the i5-3570k currently am running 4.7ghz @ 1.27 Volts and it is stable with about 75 max temps. I have also gotten it to 5ghz at 1.35 volts with about 85-90 temps on each core. Since I do not know much about overclock I have only changed the cores to their specific hz and the voltage to fixed. I would like to know if there is anyway to decrease temps with any of the settings on the mobo and also how to work the offset voltage.

thanks!

I havent played with ivy for a while but those temps seem about right. THe h220 is great (I own one) and getting to 5ghz with peak of 90c seems pretty good for how hot these chips run, Im assuming those temps are on prime?

Anyways I havent checked the ivy overclocking guides recently, but here is some reading for asus motherboards, which will be similar to what you have as far as volts and temps

And the ivy delid guide if your brave (there are a few methods, this is just one)

I actually had my pump die on the h220 while expanding so I got a swiftech mcp655. Im currently at a 240 and 360 rad with gpu block. I was just curious if any the options on the board would help decrease heat.

Well I can tell you that messing with the power settings on my 2700k didn't decrease anything so I just leave it locked at full clocks. Those other settings such as voltage offset and c states seem to only be for power/electricity savings. Sure its the same on the ivy.

Sucks about the h220; the failures reported in the club had me second guess buying one but swiftechs customer support and service made me take the chance. If mine dies I'm probably gonna go with the apogee drive 2 or gut the h220 and get a mcp35x.
