Dead DVI Port

gtx 580 with a defective master dvi port
analog signal works fine (DVI-VGA)
digital signal is dead (DVI-DVI)

last week the digital signal was intermittent initially, then it eventually went dead. tried the edid power off and it came back to life. this week it is dead dead. not sure what caused the digital portion to go dead?

the slave dvi port works fine for both (DVI-DVI n DVI-VGA)
the hdmi port not tested.

anyone else have a dead dvi port? if so - which gpu? did you know the culprit?

.

aside for the physical change of the video output from the dead master dvi port to the working slave dvi port.

everything is normal. including a fresh reinstall of win7 x64.

Time to RMA, if its still under warranty then start the process. If not can you live without that port if so great, if not then look into buying a new card. Seems you have done everything short of replacing the port.

no more warranty. sadsmiley.gif

it has not affect the usage of this particular machine. which it is a single monitor setup.

just odds that a div port would go dead like that. of all things to go bad.
