I hear but obviously haven't confirmed that the 2014 models are absolutely awful compared to the earlier generations. Seriously, the QcK+ is what I still call THE standard gaming mousepad. Definitely not the best, but the perfect first cloth pad for anyone who hasn't really had the pleasure to use a gaming grade cloth pad before. Right now I'm really liking my Talent the most though.

I remember Skylit praising his Allsop Raindrop XL. I also have never tried an Artisan, and probably should...

I have two... Worst money I've spent on a pad. We should start a collection for those needy souls that just have to have a hard mouse pad.

LOL I'm in the same boat but I got owned on eBay cause someone sold me what was a very worn out Propus. Probably works great with laser mice when new though. At least I only dropped $7. Weird aspect too not a fan of the fact that it isn't very tall and it's not wide enough for me either. MM400 is much better overall.

Actually, in my experience the flakes in the pad are hell on laser mice. I used it with a Mionix Naos 5000 and it skipped constantly. Even at slow movements.

Strange, well I had issues with the MM400 tracking on a Sensei since there were some small dead spots, but increasing the LOD slightly fixed it completely, tracking was more accurate than on cloth but still not as good as an optical

Do you use any mouse glides? Don't want to damage the mouse feet but usually prefer plastic pads over cloth ones.
However it seems Mionix does offer dedicated mouse glides only for the Naos but not the Avior.

I just have to ask, I thought that the Control Edition has actually more friction then the Speed Edition because you would need a lower resistance to move the mouse faster on the Speed Edition or is that something I might have misunderstood?

I also dont like the new design of the 2014 models, would prefer just a black one without such dumb big logo on it, I used Steelseries (not sure which exactly) some years ago, they are good at the beginning but to me they wear off faster compared to the Razer Golathius.

Did anyone had a chance to compare the Mionix Sargas with the Golathius pads?

Unfortunately no Sargas yet for me.

Yeah Razer's naming is really messed up. I have a control edition and have owned a Speed in the past. The Control offers less friction allowing for more precise slow movement at the expense of friction and mouse stopping control.
