First time watercooling Need help choosing pump/rad and fans - Page 2

I would prefer X1 from Mayhem, thought I have nor experience, nor need for it as I don't mix metals. But I hear only good things about it. It is both a biocide and an anti-corrosion additive.I would also recommend staying away from silver. It just adds an other metal to the soup, when other biocides are available.

i use XSPC and happy with it
i wanted to go with Mayhem as well initially but i saw TTL's video as he had some issues with it (not sure if it was X1 though) and therefore decided to go with XSPC just to see if there will be more people complaining - but i guess people will always complain
as for the pump my first was liang D5 and my opinion if you will have a decent rad cooling capabilities you would not really need super high performance pump - just set it on 2 or 3 and you almost can't hear a thing
i run 360 UT60 and 240 Monsta both in p-p with 700rpm phobya fans and when i set the D5 on my friend asked me "is it on cause I can see it glows?"
however you wont get crazy overclocks with this setup - idle temps are great, when gaming all the temps are well below 50 but as soon as you try an artificial CPU (FX-8350 @ 4.7GHz and 1.4V) stress test like prime or OCCT it takes around 10 min for the vram to go above 80*C
