[UPDATE]NO SIGNAL/DISPLAY AFTER WINDOWS LOGO!

Thread Starter
This is so annoying. Last night it was a barrage of Nvidia Kernel Mode Driver crashes and recovery. Now it is no signal after windows logo. I used Display Driver Uninstall in Safe Mode.
Installed the latest drivers, 334.89, to no avail. Again I tried, in safe mode again, using DDU and installed driver 314.22 to no avail again. So now I am just using HD3000 of my 2600k. This is depressing. This is the second time I had a very annoying Nvidia driver problem. The Nvidia Kernel Mode Driver crash just sprout out of no where so I tried to roll back to 327.xx and the no signal started there. Well not really started because I had some undetected graphics card scenarios a day or two before yesterday. Don't tell me I will have to reinstall again Windows after a couple of months since that annoying 1st driver problem of mine. *sigh*

Try plugging the monitor into a different output on the graphics card.

Something must be wrong with your system though...the drivers are not that easily corrupted. If I were you...I'd re-install the OS any way.

My guess is that some of that cracked software is causing your trouble. If you must use it...virus scan it better.

They're good and im not using them XD
IIRC I was using 327.23 for long. Then I got tempted to look at the new driver's notes. I was lured by some performance enhancements because 500 series was included. Since my first bad experience with nvidia drivers, i only updated 2x, 314.22 to 327.23 and then to 334.89 which caused all the trouble. I used the clean installation check box in the installer. Guess that did not helped.

EDIT:
I did not see ur first post vagrant. Im using hdmi, and i tried the vga to vga with dvi adapter and nothing happened. that was earlier today before i went to work. i dont think its the cards problem tho. or is it?

EDIT2:
Well i had this another windows on a separate drive for the purpose of OCing. it has I think 314.22 driver but when i booted into it there is no signal still.
I havent booted into that os for months. but the result was still the same.

Well, what I think is happening to cause the no display issue after the Windows logo is that the driver is set to a resolution that your monitor doesn't want to display...or else it is switching over to your IGP graphics as soon as Windows boots up. If it is the first...a different output port might trick it into detecting it as a new monitor and set it to the default resolution and refresh rate, but it sounds like this didn't help.

As for the second...that isn't a very common thing, but does your motherboard have an option in the BIOS to disable the IGP on the CPU?

If that doesn't help you might have to re-install windows...something got corrupted somewhere. Though i should say I've never had an issue with installing Nvidia drivers while using the Clean Install option. I've never ran any third party driver cleaner software...or at least not in several years.

I don't think the GPU is having issues...just a guess though. To me it seems like it is displaying just fine, but just not at a pixel clock rate your monitor can display. Which it is possible the monitor has issues...but with the recent driver issues you were having I'd say that is a very low possibility.

Try loading Windows using last known good configurations. During boot, continually press F8 to get the advanced settings to appear.

The trouble with Last Known Good Config is that as far as Windows cares...every recent boot was good. It could care less if the monitor is displaying anything.

I tried forcing the display to use PCIE. my board is an Asus p8Z68V gen3. when theres no signal using hdmi to the gtx 560 ill try hdmi to onboard then vga to onboard with the same results. no signal, that was earlier when i was not at work yet.

I tried booting using last know config to no avail again. that was earlier too not at work yet.

monitor issues oh no. i just claimed warranty some months ago because the left part of its screen was bluish. my monitor is an LG IPS237L. and my system is stock.

my gtx 560 + this monitor works for quite sometime until i decided to update. dont forget the it all began with a series of nvidia kernel mode driver crashes.
i also installed microsoft visual studio ultimate 2010 a couple of days after updating to 334.89. and a cracked BANISHED. and updated my VLC to the latest one. and that was it. no crashes for weeks. then 2 days before yesterday a couple of driver crashes and says it recovered, goes to black then goes back again.

Update tho:
I restarted and used the vga cable now from monitor to dvi of the card using an adapter. and it continued with signal but with a funny resolution and precision X did not recognized the device.

i will try the hdmi now. i was using hd 3000 of the 2600k when i was replying earlier to your posts.

UPDATE: So i removed vga and plugged in hdmi, no signal! thats in the graphics card ports. now i got my old monitor here an acer 1366x768 so i plugged it into the graphics card to in its dvi port via vga using an adapter. it doesnt support the resolution. so i put back the vga from the monitor to the graphics card dvi port and guess what? the display doesnt move it looks like it hang! but it wasnt, numlock is working and the activity led is blinking. event log shows no nvidia driver crashes. im so confused right now lol. so im using integrated graphics now the hd 3000. i restarted because as i have mentioned that the display is frozen but the OS didnt hang.
