What do you guys do with your old ssd? I've been upgrading my ssd now for a while and passing my old ssd to family members computer (wife, mom, dad, car PC, media pc). Now that's every computers got an ssd I have my first set of ocz vertex turbo 30gb back that I was using in raid0. So now I have 2 ssds. itting on my desk. I take it that its worth less than the time and energy to sell and might as well run it into the ground... But what to do with it? Using one for my wife and one for my desktop locations is pretty much my only thought as we have a wd greens 2tbs now for desktop locations. Any suggestions?

I heard someone on this site said they were using their 64 GB SSD as a cache for there HDD. I'm not sure how that would work or how to set it up but you could look into that.

Yeah I thought about using it for a mechanical drive cache as well. My ssd now is large enough for all my installed apps and games. I don't think caching my storage drives will make any kind of impact since its just music, videos and pictures. But caching my desktop location drive might be something to look into. Anyone know of any benefit of caching a desktop location drive vs just using the ssd as the desktop location drive?

I have an old 1st gen Ocz Apex 60GB....uses 2 JMicron controllers internally raided. I use it as a beast of burden to catch and unrar d/ls as well as being shared on my home network. Wish it supported more than just smart temp...would love to see how may miles I've racked up. It uses 51nm nand so I doubt I'll ever 'wear it out'.

Yeah when I originally bought these ocz vertex turbos id thought that they die way before I actually needed or wanted to upgrade them. Dads are a lot more hardy than I originally thought.
