So the S12II isn't worth it at all? jeez I need to change my recommendations.

I am actually considering the S12II as my top pick right now.

I'll check out the seasonic G, thanks for your help. The CX430 isn't on sale for 19 anymore (After rebate) bu tthe 430M is 29? Is the quality there the same?

Retail S12II(B) just doesn't make much sense these days when you can spend a bit more on say Seasonic G / S12G / Antec TPC / Rosewill Capstone etc. A few years back when you could find S12IIB 520W for $60 on newegg, before Capstone and so on, that was a good deal.

In many other countries the XFX Core 450W and 550W, which are pretty much S12IIB rebrands, are often cheaper. It seems like Antec Neo Eco and HCG (non-modular, lower wattage) are somewhat phased out or phasing out these days or at least harder to find in some markets, but those are also S12II-based alternatives.

And the OEM version Seasonics like the -ET have worse capacitors, shorter cables, shorter warranties.

Yeah, it's the same design but modular. At $29 it's less of an aggressive value, but if you're cost-cutting, take it.

S12II isn't worth it if Seasonic G is $5 more, what with the higher efficiency, newer and more advanced design, DC-DC secondary, I think lower noise too, etc.

Awesome info man! Appreciate the help you put it, I thin I'm gonna settle for the G. Added REP!

So its good, just not value priced. To me the G360 is 55 dollars and the S12II is 59. I'd probably lean to the S12II, but the G 360 is a nice value. I own an XFX 550W btw, thing is silent, but I don't see it around anymore.

I am using Seasonic G series and it is extremely quite. My 2nd rig has a seasonic M211 although its only bronze rated it has been a rock solid psu. I have done some builds with the evgas gold line as well and never had anyone come back with a psu issue.

Good Luck !!

Okay unfortunately I am still stuck on this issue, I think i want to steer away from the CX series and was wondering which would be best out of these options.

I am able for 2day free shipping and a 10% coupon for newegg. Which would be the best choice? I also included the prices

EVGA 500 B (59.99 - 10% = 53.99)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438012

EVGA 100-w1--500 (44.99 with rebate - 10% = 40.49)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438016

Rosewill Hive 550w (49.99 after rebate - 10% = 44.99)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182131

Seasonic S12II 430W or 520W (430w = 54.99 - 10% = 49.49, 520w = 59.99 - 10% = 53.99)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151094

Seasonic G 360W (54.99 - 10% = 49.49)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151119

XFX Core 550W (59.99 after rebate - 10% = 53.99)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817207013

Don't mind the extra headroom since I could always use it for another rig down the road. Right now I think the XFX is the best in terms of quality and isn't too much more than the others. Thoughts?

Seasonic G is the best of them with the XFX Core Edition and Seasonic S12II second best

XFX Core Edition is a Seasonic S12IIB if you did not know

Only negative on seasonic g is it semi modular. I still love psu though. I cannot hear the fan spin at all on my main rig.

Antec Edge might also be a fully modular G
