[TechDirt]Keurig Will Use DRM In New Coffee Maker To Lock Out Refill Market - Page 12

Didn't know all of you were coffee crazy guys. I've read through every page and this conversation is surely interesting. I'm not much of a coffee guy, but I would totally try it the old school way with grinding, boiling and pressing my own coffee over a campfire.

LMAO! OMGosh! My eyes are watering from laughing so hard. Sorry to hear about Grohl's medical incident though. That could have been me a few years ago. I had to cut back big time too! I am down to about 6 cups a day now.

I do not understand why so many people like Keurig's. The coffee they make is awful, weak and doesn't taste all that great. I 100% prefer the tradition drip coffee makers, with either some honey or crème.

yeah drip coffee isn't really all that bad. a lot of it comes down to the quality of coffee you put in. stovetop can also be good but mild

I don't drink coffee as I do not like the taste (I also avoid addictive substances as much as possible). Though I would tell you, since everyone seems to be stating their preferences.

OnT: How will taking away the option of cheap refills bring more people to your machine? I always go with the system that is the least walled-in. I went with Android over iOS (looking for alternatives now Google's claw is closing on Android) and would go with Nespresso (or some other competitor) over Keurig.

I am sorry Eric, I couldn't hear you over the noise of my espresso machine making a fine cup. Oh, and I won't be able to really tell it to anyone directly, as I can't see over the rim of my coffee snob hipster mug.

A guy will spend more time scratching his balls in front of the mirror in the morning than he will save using K-cups. Factor in flavor and caffeine extraction, ease of cleaning, and long-term cost between the two, and I would say there's an objectively clear winner. To each their own, though.
