My heart goes out to you and your loved ones. Maybe someday, you can kick this habit and consider more healthy morning options.

Now if you'll excuse me, my breakfast has arrived.

Looks like Sam's or another warehouse store.

I also like to juice, as opposed to purchasing juice in a can/bottle/jar/jug/container. I can grab oranges, slice the rind off, and have it in the juice in about a minute and a half, and seconds later have a fresh pulpy orange juice that tastes amazing. On the flip side, it takes my wife 10 minutes to do the same thing because she doesn't have the routine down.

Coffee wise, I have a Saeco espresso machine; add some filtered water, a nice fresh ground espresso and a few minutes later I have nice espresso. As with your kettle it takes about two minutes to warm up, I just swing by the kitchen and turn it on while I am prepping other things.

In terms of taste, the Keurig was terrible, and can't hold a candle to what even a basic drip coffee maker can do. It did't matter what brand of k-cup I used, or what flavor, they all tasted like they had aspartame in them. A very artificial taste, either like the nasty sweetener or other preservative.

True. There's a big difference between juicing and coffee though, at least in terms of learning curve with the tools used and the labor involved. If someone can't boil water and use a measuring spoon, they have some serious problems and should probably stick to their Keurig. Efficiency with a knife is a hole different can of worms.

Off-topic: you may not care about my opinion on the matter, but fruit juice isn't the healthiest thing to drink. It has exponentially more micro-nutrients than soda, no doubt, but the insulin spike is virtually just as hard. You're stripping the fiber required to slow and even out the fructose absorption. Vegetable juice with just a little fruit for taste is the way to go, if you want to juice. Smoothies are the best option really.

Also random fact - the white part of the orange that people usually peel off (the pith) actually contains 80% of the nutrients of the orange and three times the vitamin C as the inner, juicy part.

I'm looking forward getting into real English tea. You can't buy real tea here in Spain, at least at an affordable price.

$15 French Press + $75 Burr grinder + locally roasted whole bean coffee > Any K-Cup coffee ever
post #78 of 146
Sorry but: it is a matter of time. And money. And convenience.

I don't own my own keurig but the ones my parents have that I use frequently is just awesome.

It came with:

And it's all I ever use anymore so I can get some real coffee without wasting a whole pot and not having to drink the garbage Folgers that my parents drink.

IDK what all this huff is about DRM and french presses (french presses). Sorry I'm not "cultured" enough to own one of those. If it comes with something like above that lets you make your own coffee, I don't give really care what they do with it.

Oh and sorry Frick Frock but Peanut Butter > Nutella ALL DAY GET OUT OF MY FACE WITH THIS BLASPHEMY.

it's not like using an espresso machine really takes more time. it's not even really more complicated.

step 1) take pre-ground coffee and put it in the expresso strainer

step 2) add water to the machine

it takes like, 30 seconds maybe? my grandparents have one of those keurig machines and i just don't understand why. a nice bag of pre-ground coffee costs less and blows that instant keurig crap out of the water
