ASUS 780 very strange PCB

Hi everyone.

So, well i was going to swap the thermal paste in my (ASUS DC2 GTX780) and of pure curiosity i removed the VRM heat sink, and saw all these VRM there, and than i notice that one of them is... well, i don't know how to describe but it's "obliquely" i guess. Just look at the pic and you will see.. It's like leaning towards the pins, so well it's really weird thing, just look at the pic. So i wonder could this be any problem for performance/stability. Could i send back the card and get another one (RMA i guess)? And lastly what should my description of problem sound like? I don't think ASUS or seller would appreciate me opening their card and voiding warranty in some way, i dunno. So what's your opinion on this weird problem? rolleyes.gif

Unfortunately I think that they'll blame the angled VRM on you taking the cooler off (whether that's the reason or not). Pretty sure the warranty gets voided as soon as you do something like that. But who knows? It might be worth a shot, especially if you get a nice customer service guy.

Just some oily stuff from the thermal tape, didn't bother wiping it off.

It follows the exact shape of all vrms on pic, no signs of some of them "moving around". You would not probably see it on a pic as good as i see it now, but well..

I've already assembled it, but as i got quite a few answers from different forums, ill try RMA it, as the VRM is just soldered in a messed up way. Nothing major but just OC stability issue for me.

Check this thread if you are curious.
