I don't know how anyone could argue that the 360 is a better media streaming device. I have both a 360 and a PS3. The PS3 still streams more videos and formats from this Synology NAS than my WD TV Live, which is dedicated to the task.

In fact, it's the reason I won't touch a PS4 just yet. Until they update the media streaming capabilities on it, I won't go there. I have a limited number of ports on my HDMI switcher, after all, to have all these damned machines cluttering my AV rack. But I'm sold on the tech and Sony's exclusives, so I'm really not interested in the XB ONE.

I hope it's in the cards for Sony to update the PS4 firmware to expand the codec support.

6 million @ $350 is... about $2,100,000,000 or otherwise known as "a lot of money".

They better update it, and soon too. I pre-ordered my PS4 due to the fact that my aging launch 60 gig PS3 is due for a YLOD any day now. And I was dumb and figured that the PS4 would at least do everything that the PS3 could do, in the media streaming department. Boy was I in for a surprise when Sony said they weren't going to have it. I was pissed! I kept my pre-order, and I love the Sony exclusives, but I have to be completely honest, a solid 60% of my purchase was based on the media functionality. I guess I'm ok to wait for it, but they better hurry up. And they better not drop the support. C'mon Sony! Don't make me hate you.
