Thanks, wasn't talking about sale.

This "sale" happens on average, once a month. I would consider this the normal price when it occurs this often and you only need to buy it once a year.

I figured both frequently on sale featuring similar percentage price cuts, which is why I quoted the official prices.

sale price is still not the RRP.

They're both expensive, but PS+ gives you free games. A lot of them.

Xbox live also gives you free games, given they might not be as many free games. Xbox live is overall a better experience than PSN.

I use to agree with this. Until it turned into win8 tiles and ads all over the place.

PS+ has given free games and discounts since it's release, over a year ago. Anyone who signed up then, would probably have filled a 1TB drive by now.

As someone who doesn't give a damn about XBL or PSN, I can say that my experiences with the software have been more positive on the PS3.

Bickering aside, there's a reason PS4 is outselling the X1. What the majority want from a console, the PS4 does better. Bang for the buck.

This reminds me of the current CPU war argument between AMD and intel. Both parties are selling a similar piece of hardware, but each one is going in a different direction.

I've always owned both MS and Sony consoles. IMO its dumb to only pick one as you miss great games, unless its a cost issue. Xbox Live used to be better than PSN, but that was a long time ago. Sony got their stuff together after the security breach and PSN is fantastic now. The number of games they give out to subs is awesome. I haven't even purchased a game for my PS4 yet. I mainly play the free games and stream content. The thing that really irks me with MS is they put everything behind the paywall. I usually only subscribe to Live when there is a game I want to play MP in, but with them I'd have to stay subbed all the time just to use media features that do not rely on their servers at all. Instead, I simply use my PS systems. I log into the PS3/4 every day to watch content. MS is losing my views due to their restrictive model.

I also don't like the UI of the Xbox One. I've never cared for Metro and don't like the clutter. The PS4 interface is easy to navigate and looks nice. Plus there aren't ads everywhere.

Though now PS4 is even a worse media machine tongue.gif kinda funny sony took that path. Cinavia DRM not thank you Sony. And now that you need to pay for PSN, XBL just looks that much better of a service. As XBL on XB1 not only gives you dedicated servers but a solid secure platform. Can't tell you the number of times PSN was down when I went to go play it, and the number is not small. But the service is a lot better now.

Wait.... what? Why has no one commented on this yet? The PS3 was a WAY better media streaming machine. It can natively support far more codecs than the 360. I've been using mine with PS3 Media Server for years. Some of the best 1080p mkv streaming I've seen. To this day, I can't tweak my HTPC enough to compare to what the PS3 manages. And I've yet to get my 360 to even play a fraction of the videos that my PS3 will play.

And, I know it has already been mentioned a millions times in this thread, but why would I pay M$ more money just so I can use my Netflix subscription that I'm already paying money for? Or Youtube? Or hell.... Internet Explorer? LOL.

But all that aside, I think you are dead wrong about the media streaming capabilities of the PS3 vs the 360. (Which is why I'm so disappointed in Sony for the lack of capability on the PS4. I hope they add in DLNA soon.)
