Basically board partners were hoarding chips to make more money
Is "going to be scrambling come April and May" indicating that's when Maxwell drops?

It's pure conjecture. Nvidia stated that they're launching during the second half of the year, so unless they mean Q2 (April - June) rather than second half I don't see it happening.

All the rumors state the larger GM200, GM204 , GM206 are supposed to be 20nm.

Of course SKYMTL can chime in if he has insider info on that.

edit: I'd be surprised if GTX 760 Ti launches any time soon , the OEM GTX 760 Ti is GTX 670 (1344 shaders like the GTX 660 Ti). The R9 280 will likely push $300. The GTX GTX 770 Ti is another unused SKU that was thought to be GK110 with 1728, 1920 (most likely) , or 2112 shaders.

I like to know how exactly will this be 20% faster than 760 if it's a re-branded 7950.

I'm pretty sure 760 was slightly slower by a small margin with 7970/670. Which were way faster than 7950

the 7970 is not way faster than the 7950. it can even be faster than the 670. i've owned both 7950 and 7970.

of course in benches, the 7970 will most likely come on top. they both maxes out the same games.

Not really my point though. 7950 is still 8% slower than 760. I'd like to know where exactly this "20% performance boost" is coming from if it's a rebrand of 7950.

this is just a 7950 oc'ed to 7970 GHz speeds . . .

http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/7288276

it would take a 760 prolly over 1300 on the core to match it. it might qualify a suicide run.

looks like this is going to make my 7950 tough to sell.....

Replaced mine with a flagship card from the green team. biggrin.gif

It works grate and does 1100 on stock volts...but it just gets too dang hot while gaming. i don't think the Sapphire Dual X cooler is good enough for the card.

better sell it now. sold mine for $325 last december. that and my 7970 for $375. i used to crossfire those to max out C3. my 290 does it by itself at stock. not bad for a $400 card i bought last November.

I'll throw it up on here because I have never sold anything on a forum before and people here seem legit...I would rather it go to someone who needs a 2nd one for CF for gaming then coin mining...that needs to die in a fire!!!!
