Not impressive at all... i would take a nice core overclock over memory clock any day.

For those complaining about the core clock are you familiar with the silicon lottery?

Is that the one where I buy tickets to win a boob job?

Well yeah there are always gonna be a few golden cores out there but I have been paying close attention to 290/Xs around OCN since launch and it seems the vast majority cannot do 1200 on air, many can't even handle 1200 on water, and a good handful can't even do 1100. Mine couldn't even do 1150 with water-cooling and constant sub-50 temps with 1.35v.

That cooler seems to do wonders though. 70C under load is fantastic for a full Hawaii core. Also I wanna address something - people say this thing is built for water cooling. No it's not. It's built for 2 different types of people - those who want a good air OC, and those who will be cooling with LN2. Otherwise they wouldn't put so much work into making such a robust air cooler, which is factored into the price. It usually takes manufacturers forever to release a waterblock for each lightning card, and sometimes they never even make one at all. For example, EK didn't release a block for the GTX 780 Lightning until after the 780 Ti was already release. Anybody who had the 780 Lightning really couldn't get a full cover water block during the 780's prime time.

First off they are using the standard bios setting instead of the LN2 overclocking setting. Secondly that's BETTER than the same reviewer was able to clock an Asus DCUII 780Ti. Clearly he is a novice or a sandbagger. wink.gif

We also don't know how many people haven't oc'd their cards, who has and hasn't reported in or told anyone, and lots of other factors. You can't make a blanket statement like that, it's terribly misleading...

Oh you tongue.gif
Silicon is the stuff for your PC hardware
silicone is for squidgy plastics stuff

Implants are not as squishy as you would think, they are a lot harder than natural boobs, its kinda pleasant when you hug some one with them.

Do you really think I'll be more huggable with them?

You don't think my beard will ruin the look? tongue.gif
