[OC3D] MSI R9 290X Lightning Review - Page 27

Shame about the pricing, a 290 non-X lightning at $600 would have been an insta-buy from me.

We don't do second tier cards, so maybe an "LE" along the way might better suit your budget.

(don't look at the 770 please!)

It's a shame, the 290X is a bit too much for me to spend $ on, but a PE with the lightning cooler/PCB would be awesome, kinda like what you guys do with the HAWK cards.

Aw man, you're about to have a blast with that thing! I wish I had a spare $750 right now as my folding rig is in desperate need of some more GPU power! Be sure to post up your experiences with that thing as soon as possible!

...will do - unfortunately I'm crzay-busy at work so it will stay in the box for a bit, but once I let 'Bumble-Bee' out... smile.gif

Anybody from OCN been OC'ing this beast? If so, what kind of results have you achieved?

How do I unlock my core voltage for afterburner?

You have to receive a special copy of AB in order to do so. That question has already been asked and answered and discussed in this thread.

Neliz I believe is who was contacted before. I'm not sure how the actual process of contacting someone works or who to contact. But the special copy is not available to everyone because MSI made it that way, which I think was a good idea but. Read through the thread for more info.

Thanks iiNTEL. I thought it might have been because I only plugged in the 2 8 pins and left the 6 pin out. I didn't have time to read thought he entire thread b/c i'm too exited!!!! Bf4's not getting below 60fps! I'm so freking happy right now! That special copy would be nice though. I have my core clock at 1125 and mem clock at 1447. Need the core volt to do anything else. But i'm a noob at overclocking so i'm trying to to F#&* up.
