I am trying to add a hard drive to my desktop computer. Unfortunately, my SATA connector broke accidently. Can I buy one of these adapters? Will this be enough to give power to my SSD drive?

I have SATA III mechanical Hard Dive. I am going to add SATA III SSD. Do these adapters have to be SATA III compatible or does it not matter? As long as they are getting power from the PSU?

thanks in advance smile.gif

Here is some info about my computer

AMD FX 8100 CPU

MSI 760g-p34 MOBO

430 watt themaltake PSU.

Should be able to power both drives and SATA III is the interface speed, not the power requirements. Also, don't you have any other SATA connectors?

Yes, that adapter will work for your purposes. The same adapters will work for Sata I/II/III.

I have an adapter kind of like that one, and I'm able to run two desktop HDDs on it with no problem. I've had some silliness, but I blame the data cables. I have weird setups sometimes. You should have no issues.

I will be adding 2 SSDs and one Mechanical HDD for storage. Do you think my 430 watt thermatlake PSU would be enough juice for this PC?

Sory to tell you but you need a new PSU

You should not keep that fire hazard a second longer then you have to its terrible in every way

If you load that turd above 300 watts it will die and possibly take the whole PC with it

It is running perfectly fine right now. It is running stable. And I don't do any overclocking nothing like that. But I am going to add 2 SSDs and a mechanical HDD for storage.

Any suggestions to what PSU I should buy? please do recommend. thanks
