Weird Question

I don't know if this is the right spot to ask this but here goes. I have a gigabyte 990fxa-ud3 rev3.0 board paired with an FX-8350. I have been trying to play Bf4 since it came out and it was unplayable due to lots of stuttering and really ****ty frame rates. I went into the bios and switched the core control from auto to 4 cores per processor. Now I can play at 61fps on med and its smooth as silk. now the only thing is my device manager shows only 4 cores running. I'm confused as to why its runs smoother on only 4 cores, and runs ****ty on 8 cores. Any answers would be great.

P.S. I know the REV 3.0 ud3 board isn't very good from the reviews I've read. XD

Thanks

Check vrm,cpu and gpu/gpu`s vrm temperature on the mobo while gaming

I would look into core parking issues and see if it isn't causing your problems. Stutters are often related to power saving features.

Have you installed all the windows Hotfixed for supporting the 8 core? Windows will treat it like a quad core if not. (so will only use half the resources) when you set it to 4 cores, it's not being 'confused' by the fact there are actually 8 threads.

Here they are to help:
1.http://hotfixv4.microsoft.com/Windows%207/Windows%20Server2008%20R2%20SP1/sp2/Fix387870/7600/free/441065_intl_x64_zip.exe
2. http://hotfixv4.microsoft.com/Windows%207/Windows%20Server2008%20R2%20SP1/sp2/Fix391262/7600/free/441280_intl_x64_zip.exe

Install those and re-try & then let us know if it worked - (ps. or give +Rep)
