Need Help Optimizing my performance of my recent build.

Hello I just got done building my rig and just want to know how far I can take it for the best performance. I am going to be using it for gaming mostly BF4. I currently Have: Amd FX8350 CPU, AsRock Fatal1ty 990fx killer MOBO, Nvidia Geforce GTX 760, 16gb crucial Ballistix Ram (only at 1333), Coolmaster 600w PSU, Coolmaster 240mm Liquid cooling, And a NZXT Phantom Tower. Also running Win 7 Ultimate 64bit. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanks.biggrin.gif

If I remember correctly, the newer AMD CPUs favor faster RAM speeds.

So I would recommend overclocking that ram to 1866 or so.

I got the RAM like 2 years ago. So in my mind its time to upgrade.. Thinking about going to Ballistix crucial tactical tracer ram at 1866. but only 8gb's.

I bought two lots of 8GB Ballistix crucial tactical tracer - and have been more than impressed with the clocks from it. Stock 1600 - but have had it at 2140 Mhz CL9 1.65 V easily. Can definitely recommend.

Edit: Ps. go click the button top right of the page, and complete Rig Builder, will help us give advice/help in the future!

Oh, well, I thought you were just talking about performance tweaks without upgrading.

In that case, go for some new ram. It's been quite expensive lately but I doubt it's gonna go down anytime soon.

Everything else looks great, and I don't see much else that needs upgrading.

Don't know if either of you play BF4 but I've noticed that since I've installed my new motherboard when I play the game if I start to sprint I get a stutter in the system. However when I do test range I don't get any stutter. Any ideas?

1333 is definitely holding you back. I tried 1600, 1866 and 2400 and each bump helped quite a bit in cpu bound scenarios such as MP BF4. Even going from 1866 to 2400 helped a bit. 1866 is the general sweet spot for the FX where there are diminishing returns after that for most games/software.

After you got your ram situated i would push that cpu a bit since you got a decent cooler. That should work out great! thumb.gif
