Yeah I know how they work but I get the feeling they don't get that hot or at least right at the launch of a game or benchmark.
Still, It is possible so I will test that as soon as I get home.

I'll keep you guys posted.

I have been using Unigine Heaven and Valley and Battlefield4 for gameplay.
Yes, I can totally do that.

I'll come back with more info regarding this.

I have gone back to 13.12, with my 3 x7970 its more stable in BF4 and better mining, for me.

With the latest beta drivers I had a lot of driver crashes.

Ok I don't get mantle for now, will wait until they release next WHQL.

maybe your power supply is going into OCP mode by overloading the rails. When 1 12v line goes over 360watt it may slow down.

I got the same PSU as you you have to be careful where you plugin the red power connectors.

try to plug in 1 GPU per 1 RAIL

1 on 12v3, 1 on 12v4 1 on 12v5 or 12v6 it shows which rails by the last number in the pin on far right of each plug

also the power from the molex and SATA power cables are either on 12v4 or 12v6 as you can see on the picture.

Best way to connect your 3x R9 290 is as follows. R9 290 on 12v3 R9 290 on 12v4 R9 290 12v5 and all the molex and SATA on 12v6 (3x black far right connectors)

Hm, I'll also test them with an older version of the drivers then just to be sure...

Thanks for the tip! thumb.gif

I just noticed, I haven't updated my PSU info tongue.gif:p
At this moment I am still using the Antec Trupower Quattro 1200W OC Edition, the enermax is yet to arrive.

Sorry and thank you for the info anyways!

Hello mates!!

I apologize but my work has been stealing a lot of my free time and I haven't been able to test this properly.
However, last night I noticed something. I went to play a match of League Of Legends and I totally forgot I had the XFire and Frame Pacing both turned on and I had deleted all my game profiles for not using the xfire. I played with zero issues and when I cheked I noticed that It was using all 3 GPUS and I had none of the issues I reported in my first post, no massive frame drops, no glithces or flashes, no breaks... I was happy but kind of suspicious tongue.gif

Then I tested that same game in these scenarios:

- Xfire ON + Frame Pacing ON: No issues whatsoever, super performence.
- Xfire ON + Frame Pacing OFF: No issues whatsoever, super performence.
- Xfire OFF + Frame Pacing ON: No issues whatsoever, normal performence.
- Xfire OFF + Frame Pacing OFF: No issues whatsoever, normal performence.

The Xfire was finally working properly and I did not know why!!! I had no time to test it any further and we all know league of legends is not the game to use in testing but since I was at it and It supports Xfire, I gave it a try.

Tonight I'll have plenty of time to do all the testing I need and I'll post the results here, benchmarks, temps, etc. thumb.gif

Cheers,

Kahedin

I haven't had any trifire issues since the day I installed them. Make sure you are disabling ulps after you install the drivers. Then restart.

Also setup a custom fan profile, keep those things under 80c and you shouldnt see any throttling.
