Mouse for MMORPG? - Page 4

Well I play WoW for RBG's (rated battlegrounds) I have to use a combination of a addon and clickin on enemy names via moving the mouse. WoW players really only use macros to target people in arena's. PvE/RBG's you'll require mouse movement.

Again I urge you to take a look at that Roccat, it's an amazing mouse.. I'm aware it does not have MMO in it's name but it's got so many functions and it's such a comfortable mouse..

if you are super casual about MMO's these days then i suggest getting a 12 side button mouse like the naga or g600.
however if you are really into it then you should be setting up your keybinds to at least play with a 5 button mouse.
also some mmo's these days like GW2 and the soon to be out Elder Scrolls Online only use this limited button action bar system, where you only only get like 5-6 spells on 1 hotbar and thats it. rendering the other keys pretty much useless if you have a naga or g600.

so i suppose if you plan on playing a multiaction bar mmo like World of Warcraft or Star Wars the Old Republic, then a naga or g600 should be fine.
if you plan on playing GW2 or TESO then maybe stick with a 5 button mouse.

Not only do I keep my gaming area immaculate, I also made sure to lightly blow out all the hairs and stuff from the bottom of the mouse twice a week (because I heard about the problem after I bought it). After about 4 months, the first one just failed. The sensor would track ONLY vertical movements 40% of the time, one of the side buttons was starting to feel flimsy and the "shift" button just never worked. So I got my new one, right out of the box it had problems tracking, so I threw my mousepad in the washing machine (because its machine washable). Still wouldn't track properly. So I said this to Cyborg, they said, RMA it again and they'll ship me another new one. Now I take really good care of my stuff, especially my computer stuff, but this mouse just kept breaking. So I got my new one, took them a month to get it to me I just wanted to say. This one worked for 7 months before I started getting the same symptoms as before. This time, I just didn't care, now it sits as a relic while I use my Logitech for the last 7 months problem free.

Moral of the story is, you got lucky with your MMO7, nobody else I've talked to did.

I was talking about this sensor in situation when everything working as intended and only problem may be sensor issues itself. If something broke or fail to work that whole another story. All rats except optical rat 3 had issue with sensro failure. That's true. But do you have same issue with sensor with never revision? If u got ur unit replaced in past few months(even last 1,5 year i think) unles ur retailer dont keep some old stock u should have revision without such problems.

And again I was talking about sensor performance under "normal" condition without fails on side of production/manufacturer. It got issues but not that makes such games like MMO hinder you'r performance or something. In WOW for example u simply need a lot of buttons that are placed conveniently for you. And IMHO its better with joystick to operate(like in MMO under thumb) than 12 keys with similar shape in naga.

Just as good as the Avior 7000...near-perfect is what I would call it.

The Mionix 7000 series is currently among the best mice you can get. However they don't offer anything special that would qualify them as MMO mice in the first place.

I agree to some posters before that you should aim to optimize your keyboard bindings instead of looking for a mouse that comes with crazy amount of buttons. The learning curve might be a bit longer at the beginning but on the long run you will be a better player than having everything mapped to your mouse.

Then again if you play MMOs first and foremost the price tag on the Mionix mice might be a bit much. You don't need the highest accuracy contrary to something like CS:GO.
Aiming for something in the 40 - 50 $/€ price range or below will do just fine for you.

In wow, some classes/specs use so many keybindings that keyboard isn't that practical any longer. Playing warlock for example, I had the whole left side of my keyboard bound with multiple modifiers even and I was still short till I got a mouse with extra buttons. A macro keyboard would have worked as well.

So they making this game playable even for mentally disabled people it seems...

My point is they simplified \and shallowed game play of this game for such degree i dropped it month after releasing playing Pandaria( burning warrior skull rune.... ffs).

This game most fun comes from that u have to(had to to be precise) experience with builds and skills. They taking it away bit by bit.

So having functional mouse is essential in this game. Only keyboard itself wont make it alone. maybe orbweaver/tartarus or such kind of keypad would help but its always better to have nice mouse as well to lessen stress on left hand. And since in MMO game u don't have to move mouse so ofter, u can change grip while need of pressing additional buttons - it's not like in FPS game where while doing this u lose aim and means u are less efficient.
