Shouldn't you wait until the seller decides what to do, or did he just end up giving it to you for free?

You could also try a fairly sturdy business card.

You should use magnification if you can. I use utility razor blades. They are narrow and would fit in between the rows of pins. The seller should ship the cpu in a clam shell.
