No in-game improvement w/ 2 7950 in crossfire?!

Hi everyone! I recently bought another Sapphire Dual-X 7950 Boost edition to add it with the other one i already had. I use my pc for gaming and for altcoin mining, and while i mine they're both great (around 600kh/s with temps of around 64/65°C on the hottest card). The thing that doesn't sounds right to me is their performance while playing. For example, i tried playing Arma 3, i went to a place where there was noone (even though on the server there were only 3 peoples) and without moving i saw that my framerate was of 54 FPS. So, paying attention not to move i've set the game to run in borderless windowed mode (so that i was playing using only one gpu) , and.. same result, 54 FPS. Then i decided to switch to fullscreen again, checked the fps once more (still 54 fps), alt-tab to desktop and i disabled crossfire through catalyst; went back to arma.. same exact result, still 54 FPS.
Then i tryed this same procedure in Payday 2 (now i had 134FPS) and after doing all of that, same problem: everything stuck at 134 fps, either, crossfire enabled or disabled.
So i started thinking that the crossfire wasn't working at all, but i ran furmark with one gpu and i got 80fps (720p preset), i enabled crossfire and i got around 140/150 FPS.
Is all this normal? What should i do to actually get an improvement while playing? Thanks for your help!
BTW, i have a 3570K oced @4,2GHz (but still undervolted than the stock voltages) and an XFX 750W PSU.

Did you set up crossfire properly? do you have the latest drivers? Is any software picking up the new card?
you could also try running synthetic benchmarks and see if there is any improvement there

Yes, i have the latest beta driver, the 14.2 released around one week ago. Regarding the crossfire setup, i think i did it correctly, in CCC it is enabled and here is a photo of the GPUs: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/18993865/Foto%20Cellulare/IMG_20140305_150046.jpg

Some games just don't scale well at all. Some games you have to force into xfire by setting up a profile in CCC, and then try the different xfire types to see if you get better results. You dont *need* both ribbons, but it shouldnt hurt anything either.

I tried all the available profiles, but nothing changes at all. I still get the same exact fps of when i have it disabled!

have you tried running afterburner or some other monitoring software in the background to see if the second card is even kicking on?

I know this might sound like a dumb suggestion, but crossfire typically only works in fullscreen mode, so make sure that you've got that setting checked. I know some games like BF3 can cause issues because it's launched in windowed mode, then maximizes itself if you don't explicitly set it to fullscreen mode.

Yes, i always do. I usually let afterburner on just to use the fan control and to get the OSD informations. When i disable the crossfire the second gpu core goes to 300mhz, when i enable it instead it goes up to 925mhz!

How about the usage statistics? Does it show both GPUs running at full steam? Are both getting up to full load temps?
