TeamViewer problems.

post #1 of 6

I've got 2 mining rigs in the garage at my parents place cause i can't accommodate 2000w of extra heat at my flat. I've set them up with Teamviwer and everything looks stable, mining for a couple of weeks with no downtime.

The computers are bridged so that PC-1 serves as a bridged connection to PC-2 so that i only need to run one cat6 cable to the garage. This means that if PC-1 goes down both will stop. Here comes the strange bit.

In my Teamviwer client in my flat i can connect to PC-2 with no problems, but to PC-1 the status will only be locked saying "Connecting" for ever without anything happening, both show up as online and both mining away (both are putting out ~2.1Mhs and i see that in the pool i've got 4.2Mh/s so i know that both are mining).

After i try to connect to PC-1 4-5 times it will show up as Offline in TeamViewer for 10-15Min before it appears as Online again (still can't connect). I know that the PC-1 has not crashed or restarted in this time (cause PC-2 is still accessible)

Just me, but perhaps you have a Switch you can connect to that ethernet cable that can connect to the two machines? Never really liked Internet Connection Sharing.

Thats just me though.

I have that, but i have a hard time seeing how this can change things, after all it's the computer that is connected strait to the router that is acting up..

Router ---cat6---> PC-1 ---Bridged---> PC-2 ( PC-1 is acting up, PC 2 is working 100% fine.

Bridging is a bit of a rigged solution. Can you determine which interface Teamviewer is binding to? It might be listening on another interface.

I imagine you'll have less issues when using a switch.

You could probably verify by trying to teamviewer from PC2 to PC1

Same results when using TM from PC-2 to PC-1.

Thanks. That is most likely the problem then. I'll get a switch up there next time. Thanks mate.
