They barely make any difference on games that are designed properly, my SSD runs pretty much for fast booting and Windows stuff, I store most of my programs on an HDD because they just load into memory anyway.

To those complaining about price, using a proxy let me buy the deluxe version for $40.

A post of mine copied from the Titanfall info thread:

Here's a screenshot of the biggest folder in the download. Total space was 49.9 GB. This vpk folder was 47.3GB

I have no idea what I'm looking at outside of the obvious (Source Game Add-ons).Toward the bottom it started naming English, German, Polish and other clients (though those are a few hundred KB at most).

Maybe this will be helpful?

Those look like a butt load of maps, that what it is....

EDIT:

Nvm, files are duplicate named with _000 added to half of them.....

An example, client_mp_angel_city.bsp.pak000_000 and client_mp_angel_city.bsp.pak000_dir, although the _dir file is small.

I don't like it either, but come on guys, it's the standard way to do things now. I haven't bought a single Call of Duty map pack, or a single Battlefield season pass in my life. Plenty of people did, and I'm sure that includes some of you who are now complaining that Titanfall is doing the same.

I don't like it, and prior to Titanfall I would have decided against buying a game that does this stuff. However, Titanfall is really awesome and my decision to not purchase any recent Call of Duty or Battlefield games due to practices such as these has done nothing to change the trend.

I really enjoy Titanfall, so I'm just going to suck it up and pay for it. If you don't enjoy it, then stick to the $80 worth of Call of Duty that you already have, or the $80 worth of Battlefield that you already have. As games get more expensive (EDIT: I should say "as games release more add-on content that can end up costing more) like this, we're just going to have to be more selective about what we buy.

I am VERY selective in which games I purchase. And I will not support any game that has has planned DLC packs even before it's released, has any form of season pass or "deluxe edition" as this type of practice is just immoral and abusive to consumes. Sorry but I know when I am being nickle and dimed and I just will not support any developer/publisher that supports this principle.
