Changes are already happening. Hope you enjoy being region locked to that serial. Keep paying $48, I really hope you speak Arabic, Russian or whatever else they throw your way...Because they have the right to and are exercising that right very soon!!!!

it was 48 pre-ordered at green man gaming...

I'm sorry but this is all such BS. I've been polite and frankly I don't think Masked is a bad person but Jesus Christ how can any of this be true?

Martha Stewart was damn near castrated for running sweat shops. Are you seriously trying to tell me that all b/c one person at CES told you something that you're going to swallow it as the whole truth.

If this were true Masked is correct and yes consumers who use these sites are pretty bad. However the companies themselves are even worse. They would be guilty of almost the same thing as Martha Stewart and running sweat shops. They will have knowingly, and willingly made direct profits off of little children getting paid 10 cents a day.

There is no way you can turn this around on consumers and say they are wrong for "abusing" this, yet give the companies a free pass. Wait, I forgot. You work with these companies.

As I said (which Masked has not replied to b/c he probably cannot) there are only two options here. Neither are good for his argument. Either it is simply not true (which is what I believe) or it is true and the companies don't talk about it b/c they know how bad it will make them look. As stated earlier just look at piracy. These companies will do anything to get a message across when they feel they are losing out on profits unfairly. Yet the only source we have on this is some guy at CES.

Sorry that doesn't fly with me. I just think this is meant to guilt trip people.

i'm sure he occasionally shops at walmart... his claims here are true about every industry. the computers we're all typing on had some element of sweat-shop level labor on components, i guarantee it. But this guy gets sanctimonious about people buying cheap video games because he has a "source"

Lol.

I have no horse in this race. 0, none, zilch.

Most of you get these games for "crazy low" prices and wonder how, but they only have x amount. -- Do some digging.

Tell you what, I'm completely full of crap. I know nothing. Don't listen to me. -- Start on this false premise but, use your brains.

Investigate the entire scenario for yourself and do some discovery work on those serials. You'll find they aren't in any form of order and they're from a different region. Mostly regions 6 or 7.

Above/beyond that, it's not a sweat shop...It's actually pragmatic capitalism.

If I can get 10000 games in India at 30c on the dollar (actual exchange rate if you look at current product) why wouldn't I? Open them, sell them to all of you at $45/per -- I make $15/game and all I had to do was transfer a serial #.

This is why M$ recently went back on their region-free promise. - Those serials will no longer work on Region 1/US soil.

I can afford $60...In fact, I can afford much more, I'm very thankful for that but, I could really care less if you guys pay $10 or $60.

What I do care about is ME. I care about the impact this has on our industry which, directly impacts ME.

When this entire "cycle" goes down, it creates a false dichotomy so prices get lower and lower there. Well, fast forward through serial # tracking...You really don't think they're not aware you're using a VPN to buy that region 7 serial when you're directly linked from your mac/DNS to Respawn? Really folks? Do you really think they're THAT stupid?

This hurts ME because it means region locked content. Which, as the Xbox one will provide to us, will be going down very shortly, in fact, it'll go down within the next few months.

Now, how am I affiliated? I only beta their games. Do I have family in the industry? Yes...But, again, I see this from both sides of the coin.

We knew this was happening a decade ago...So I quite frankly don't understand how this is the "news of the day"...

Actually, I was at Barneys today when the buildings in Harlem blew up -- I don't shop at Wally world but, ty for your consideration.

Lol yeah. Everything we own has some sweat-shot involvement. He is talking about kids opening up the box. What about the kid in the other side packing up the box?? Joke on him really. As a customer its not ur job to defend a company. If EA does not want that they should spend their money and so something about it them self.

Actually, FYI, where these discs are "replicated" there are very strict labor laws...Keep on trying though, I await your next witty retort.

Don't want to spend 60usd? I hope you speak another language. thumb.gif

$60 USD = $66.73 AUD (Price for game in America)

$99 AUD = $89 USD (Price of game in Australia)

Same game, same form of acquiring yet '$30" more? Righto.

And you google'd the reason as to why?

I did...

http://www.kotaku.com.au/2010/11/why-do-videogames-cost-so-much/

I'd start talking to your Gov't about tariffs and import fees. There's also your entire rating system which you actually pay for.

It is what it is.

Then people wonder why Devs don't care about PC gamers:rolleyes: People always want to buy things cheap without looking at it in the long run. Look at walmart and how that destroyed mom and pop stores in the area. Like masked said though, you're smiling now because you got the game $20 off now but when it starts becoming region locked and you're SOL then it's going to be funny watching all the complaints.

Not everyone does this simply does it out of spite. Some people think or know that there's not enough value behind Titanfall to justify its 60$ pricetag. The fact that you can get more game time and value out of games that are a tenth of the price of pretty much all AAA titles says a lot of how out of touch publishers/devs are. Honestly I cant see myself paying anymore then 30$ for Titanfall and that's only when im feeling generous.
