So the 48GB install size just may be locked DLC after all, I am not surprised at all by this. Also a $60 online only game just became a $85 game for the map packs, no thanks.

Going to wait and see if this is the case, if it is, I won't be touching that game.

There is a special circle of Hell for developers that have day-1 on disc DLC waiting to be "unlocked".

What about if that isn't the case? What if the base game is really 48GB...and then you start adding 15GB+ DLCs or something? This could be a thorn in the side of people running a 128GB SSD or less...which I think might be a lot of people.

Marketing made this look great. Seeing EA told me otherwise, and seems I was right. When will people learn? My guess is never.

Paying $25 for an expansion/DLC/season pass that will come out months down the road, will not make this game any less fun than it actually is. From the hours of the beta that I played, it looks like I will get hundreds of hours of play out of the base game itself, as will most others that are buying it.

I was going to pick this game up when it went under $30, but all the little extras I would need to pay for are just such a turn off... By the time they release an all inclusive version for $20 the community will be dead and it's an online only game. No thanks.

You know, a few days ago I saw the old EA logo on some random old game that I enjoyed, and having not seen the old logo in more than a few years, I sort of got a little exciting feeling inside, a little tingle. I had to laugh, when was the last time an EA logo made you think that you were in store for something special? think about it, it's been a long time for many I would bet.

I think only the people that have just gotten used to the way things used to be have issues with this...or people that have never played a subscription based MMO. I mean can take my family out to a movie and easily drop $80 for two hours or less of entertainment. I don't think I can complain about spending the same amount on a game that I will at bare minimum get 30 hours out of it...and that is only if I don't really like the game. If I like it that number will be far higher.

So you just have to put things into perspective...and let go of the past. I have resigned myself to the fact that the days of paying $50 for a game and getting free bonus upgrades are gone...or that on day one the purchase price includes all content the developers have available. DLC is the future...heck, it is the now and it really should have been apart of the past as well when you compare the price of a game to the cost of going to the movies or a trip to an amusement park or something.

The prices are going to be whatever the market is willing to support and so far the extreme majority of the market hasn't complained. So I can either chose to not buy any games and be bored...or go with the flow because even if every OCN member started boycotting games with the new business model...it wouldn't make a difference. I hate to accept defeat, but there are times when you just have to take the blue pill and make the best of it.

Day 1 DLC that is on the disk is wrong.

But season passes and DLC is just another way of doing expansion packs. We did not have the ability to offer content quickly like we do now, so additional content was normally larger and more money and in the form of an xpac. It didn't make sense for them to release small content updates for a price of 10-15 when it would cost them more to produce and distribute it.

Also I don't get where you guys keep saying incomplete games. Why are they incomplete, broken has definitely happened but BF4 was a complete game. Bioshock was complete the only game to me that did not feel complete in recent times was ME3 but that was becuase the ending was pretty retarded.
