Because of the fps jump on the pc version, the game will be harder (bonus). Also 4k support will be sublime gaming.

I hear that! I hope this one will finally knock Skyrim off its high horse. Working with DX9 in eyefinity is a mess, I am ready for a new addiction.

Ready for DX9 in the garbage bin. I buy this (admittedly low end) hardware for a reason LEMME USE IT

The best part is Durante said the game is very easy on the system. Seems like it really is optimized for PC this time and that it doesn't have the "only optimized for 1-2 cores" chronic console port problem.

He also said he would like to address adding some features to the game after getting to analyze the game files a bit more, so cross your fingers Durante may be able to reimplement the original lighting engine, or if not able to go that far, make a reasonable facsimile of it. Because even though the consoles couldn't handle it (which I still don't believe as beta apparently ran fine with it), in such a well optimized PC port, it should be easy to get up and running.

Already prepurchased this on Steam either way. Just waiting now.

Also as bad as a port the original PC Dark Souls was, using DSFix with downscaled 4K textures at 60fps made that game a sight to see. If you ignored playing it for that reason you really missed out.

I went that very route, using the aforementioned mod. At least this time around they're being serious, hopefully won't need something like it.

Oh I hope so to, but I'll admit to you now that if Durante manages a reasonable facsimile of that original lighting engine, I'd run DSFix again without hesitation.

I intend to use SweetFX to rectify the bright, washed out look the developers went with.
