[DS] Dark Souls 2 – Official PC Release Date Announced - Page 10

Even though I bought dark souls on ps3 and then again on PC, Id rather just buy dark souls 2 on "PS4" it drives me nuts when there is games that id like to play on my curent gen console that aren't avalible on it. GTA 5 especially guess that leaves me buying both on PC when they release

The game is hard but not in the same way that some old NES games where, like ninja gaiden or the first TMNT game for example.

Yeah, I remember Ninja Gaiden. Parts of the game were true trollfests, way before trolling was coined. Dark Souls does offer you a challenge, but also tools for you to ovecome them. You just have to fiqure it out. FromSoft does not handhold you. From what i heard DS2 has a better 'tutorial', but the devs also have not revealed everything. Anyone playing through DS one more time before the new release? I cant get away from the bastard sword. Its a median between speed and strength.

Everytime I hear the words Ninja Gaiden I shudder lol. But yea I really love these games. I remember buying demon souls when it dropped on ps3 and got instantly hooked due to it being different. I ended up getting ds1 on pc and will do the same with ds2. Yeah it's a bummer that it didn't release on ps4 but I will probably hook the pc up to the tv and play it that way.

99% of those people sound like whining pixel hero children whinging about graphics and missing the entire concept that is the Souls series.

It's never been about mind blowing graphics.

I just bought the game a few hours ago for ps3, i'll go home a play it and see for myself.

There's nothing more i hate than a whining gamer who moans about graphics as if it is what makes a good game.

If everyone followed your logic we'd still be playing 8 and 16 bit games. There should be progress in graphics, and good graphics help immerse the player into the game. Amazing graphics can make a good game a great game, and they can help immerse the player into the game a lot more.

I do agree with you though that they can't make a bad game a good game. tongue.gif

I'm not saying i dont want graphical progression, dont get me wrong. But people buying on ps3 should know what they're getting into, it was never about graphics, and it was pretty much at its limits in DS1.

I'm sure the PC version will have the full lighting effects included thumb.gif

The graphics aren't the point, it's the dishonesty. I absolutely loved Dark Souls and while I haven't owned a console for over a decade, I am now very apprehensive to buy Dark Souls II. I don't like supporting developers that lie or egregiously deceive their customers, so regardless if the PC version looks exactly like they have been advertising, I don't want to support this kind of bait and switch marketing.

To get everything straight, I am not saying a developer can't change their game before it's released. The problem here is they were showing off DSII on a PS3 in January with a much different look than what was actually released and they never once showed the largely downgraded version since, opting instead to just allow the game to launch without a word. If they instead showed us this new version in January, I would be a lot more understanding.

I can respect that, that's a very valid argument thumb.gif

Personally i will be buying them both on ps3 and pc just cos the souls games are my only reason for gaming, so i guess ill have to take it on the chin.
