I dunno if you ever heard of this but a socket 370 to slot 1 adapter, also called slotket
it allows to use the faster PII chips in a slot 1 motherboard, however provided the motherboard supports the speed and chip, the adapter SHOULD not be a problem

Right, I got couple of Slot 1-to-S370 adapter cards myself (aka Slockets)... So yes, theoretically you could go with S370 CPU instead, but personally I prefer to stick with Slot 1 CPUs... Like I said in other topic, I'd always pick Slot-1 over S370 biggrin.gif

2 of my Voodoo machines originally came with "slockets" & Celeron 433 mounted on them, but I replaced the entire assembly for Pentium 3, 500 (and 550) MHz

If you're aiming for realistic specs from back in a day, I'd recommend that you go with Pentium 2, either 350, 400 or 450. My personal choice is 350MHz, but that's only because I had one back in a day. In the matter of fact, I still do - it's completely restored to original specs & safely "retired" in working condition thumb.gif

However, if you don't really care for "authentic" part & want something better, then I'd recommend Pentium 3, maybe something like 750MHz? I have the same combo (with Asus P3B-F), except I'm running Voodoo3 3000.

The fastest Slot-1 CPU was Pentium 3, 1GHz but they're pretty hard to find nowdays. As for Pentium 2, I believe the fastest was 450MHz, which was also the slowest Pentium 3 wink.gif

Despite the fact that TNT2 is AGP4x, it would work on AGP 2x motherboard such as P3B-F, yes. The only question is why would he do something like that, unless he would pair it up with Voodoo2 cards in SLI...
