I'll take a total port. I'm not that uppity to turn my nose up at this. We need more games like this on the PC.

I always welcome more PC games, I too have completely moved away from consoles and have been voting with my wallet as well.

Also, just for my previous post a couple up. My purchases on the PS3 have been : Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD and will be the FF10 HD Collection, when that's released.

What is wrong with the industry shows when developers first need to ask whether PC gamers want a game like MGS or not. Of course PC gamers want it. Or are these rhetorical questions of some sort?

I gotta agree.

I would think a game designer would want to see their game released on a platform that won't restrict it graphically, so it could look it's best. It would require minimal effort to port since modern consoles are specialized PC's, regardless of the fact that your development machines were probably all high end PC's. And it's not like there aren't a bunch of digital publishing options that will handle DRM for you.

Sure there would be some additional costs to support coding customized PC controls, Quality Control testing, and some games simply lend themselves more to a console experience where you are interacting with other people in the room.

But IMO basically the only reason a game should be a 'console exclusive' is if MS, Sony, or Nintendo is paying a developer a boat-load of cash to stay out of the PC market.

So my answer is: Kojima if you haven't already received your console-exclusive bribes, then it's in your best interest to release on PC.

I disagree, Kojima doesn't need to spend resources to port something to the PC. Kojima's games all about the cinematic experience and it just works better on a TV when most PC games are going to be played with a monitor 2-3 feet away while wearing headphones.

So you wish to speak for all the PC gamers who are interested in this title?
No, I'm disagreeing that MGS will be better game on PC simply because PC has better graphics. Graphics is one facet of what makes a game and I feel that it shouldn't be overvalued. Every title has a deadline and finite budget so I think expending those limited resources just to port the game over to PC would be a waste. Where I stand is Kojima should spend resources in improving gameplay or story instead.
