Before making a purchase, make sure to check with the resident OCN PSU gurus. Just because a PSU says "850 Watt" or "Gold Rated" doesn't mean it's any good. And I'm not saying anything about this PSU, I honestly know nothing of it.

Thats some good going there well done! To be honest it is unlikely an overclocked 8 core FX processor 81XX or 83XX will bottleneck a dual GPU set-up. You might run into problems with three. But even that is unlikely. Yes FX'es get lower bench scores (tell us something we don't know.) but the mythical bottleneck doesn't really exist. Your system is still good and you still have 83XX or 9XXX CPU as an upgrade path. If you want to put rest to those bottleneck doubts. One of the top 10 Heavenbench scores on OCN is held by an 8350 and I think that was with a triple or quad GPU set up. thumb.gif

How many times after gaming do you go to browse the internet (like OCN) and notice that things are a bit laggy? It's due to the page file. Instead of having system data on the RAM (or data the browser needs), it's on your storage drive. So now it has to move that data back to the RAM for it to be used quickly again. Or, sometimes it won't move the data back. It will just let it sit there. People who use SSD's can give a bit of data to use as page file, or some will already be used for page file if the OS is on it.

I would also suggest getting 2x4GB of RAM. If you get another 2x2GB, that will be more stress on the memory controller on your chip. You might have to lower clocks, give more VCore, or give the NB more volts. Also, if you want dual channel if you plan on getting another 2x2GB kit, make sure it is the same speed and timings. Otherwise, your system will only use single channel. I think you can overclock on set to match the other to enable dual channel, but I would get that verified by someone else before you try it.

yes I am getting 2 x 4 gb overclocked ram 1866 ,,,in order to get my processor to 5.0 I need to bump the base clock up alittle so ram overclocks to,, but I totally agree 2 x 4 gb is better than 4 x 2 smile.gifsmile.gifsmile.gif

Can you do the test in BF4
I tested on bf3 --- low gpu usage 50 -60 ---im glad I installed it now...

Bottlenecking only occurs when a desirable framerate is not achieved while one part of the system is running as fast as it can. Even though CPU's may not hit 100% utilization, they may be the bottleneck. Example:

Even with my 4k texture pack, and max graphics settings, my Skyrim holds me to ~40FPS in certain situations. My GPU is at 80% use, while my CPU is at 25%. The reason being is I have an octo-core, and Skyrim only uses 2 threads. 2/8=25%. So that means both of the threads it can use are at 100%. Since my CPU cannot give any more power, the GPU stops at ~80% since the bottleneck is at the CPU.

Also, are you saying you have 2x4GB sticks, or 2x2GB sticks to make 4GB in dual channel?
sorry 2 x 2 gb sticks 4gb in total smile.gif

great reply I thought the processor at that speed would be fine and if it was the bottleneck it would be closer to 100% usage ,,,im upgrading to 8 gb tomorrow so that's that ruled out 2,,,but I new my monitor had some part in this,, one word its pants,, compard to my old 120 hz,,,cant keep up with the speed,,,, reason why I have this monitor is im building for fun as I enjoy it and will sell it when I finished but don't wont to buy a 120 hz montor just to test,,,would it be better tested on my 50" hd tv also 60 hz ?
If your TV is full HD yes. It will be a higher resolution then what your screen can display. It will then increase the stress on your system and maybe increase the CHANCES of seeing a bottleneck. Of you play with v-sync on you won't see much difference in usage as it caps your FPS. So for this test I would say leave v-sync off. Get a program called fraps . It displays frame rate and can be used to record a piece of game play as a benchmark. And yes the extra Ram should help a bit. Software is needing up to 8 these days. I'm thinking to myself personally that I might just go get me another 2 4gb sticks for my set up.
