Are some reference 290s voltage locked? + a few watercooling questions

Title. I'm about to buy a reference 290 for watercooling and I definitely do not want one that is voltage locked. Do they all have voltage control? and which brand is best in your opinion for putting a waterblock on biggrin.gif?

Both of my Gigabyte 290x came with hynix memory which will overclock to around 1700-1800 which is far better then the other type that goes to around 1350-1400

And they are also both voltage unlocked. Even if you get a locked one, you can flash any other reference bios such as the ASUS one without worry and gain control.

Oh OK so I should just pick the cheapest reference card I can find then? I was probably going to buy an ASUS reference anyway.

As long as you are fine with flashing BIOS's which would void your warranty, if you don't put the stock one back on before returning it then id just get what ever you can cheap and in stock and from a brand you like/trust thats my 2 cents

I ran the ASUS BIOS on my cards for awhile so i could use ASUS GPU Tweak software
