Need opinions on this laptop

Going to buy this for my girlfriend for her birthday.

Wanted to get opinions.

http://www.costco.ca/HP-15-d013ca%2c-Bilingual-Notebook%2c-Intel%C2%AE-Pentium%C2%AE-N3510%2c-15.6-in-HD-LED-.product.100099599.html

Nice thing about costco is they offer a 2 year warranty instead of the standard 1 year.

What is she using the laptop for?

Mostly just downloading, watching movies. Playing low end games, that kind of thing.

Another thing I wanted to know is how good/bad is HP?

I've never owned one. If they are a little bad, does the 2 year warranty make up for it?

Well, HP is okay. They are either hate or love type of brand. I never own HP products, so I can't say for certain.
As for warranty, they only make up if the laptop broke or something like that.
However, the hardware itself, it is a bit too weak, but I think she can manage it.

What type of games is she going to play on it?

By the way, what part of Canada are you looking CostCo in?

In Ottawa.

And not demanding games, she likes browser games, point and click adventure, you know, the boring stuff.

Reason I'm thinking of this laptop is it's right in the sweet spot for my budget.

my wife has been with intel corp for 18 years, they have always provided their employees with HP laptops and they have a very very good track record at intel.
a few years back intel got a deal from Dell on employee laptops, and that turned out to be a mistake so they replaced them with HP.

I'd like to qualify her on a Chromebook. You state 'Mostly just downloading, watching movies. Playing low end games, that kind of thing.'
What is she downloading, how is she watching movies, and are any of her games installed games or all browser based?
