Yeah, and $50 bet that if they go that route, they are going to use the dreaded anodized aluminium too. Its almost comical how they still haven't figured it out that its highly detrimental in every aspect. Risking galvanic corrosion with your other blocks, and not to mention aluminum has half the thermal conductivity of copper. Even for a card the cost/size of their Poseidon cards, it wouldn't be that much of a BOM cost addition in respect to MSRP.

And judging by the fact that there is a recessed PCIe power connectors compared to PCB width, this could actually be a Matrix 290X.
Its quite a similar PCB design (not pcb component design) to the 280x Matrix:

I'm gonna place my bets on a Matrix 290X, not a dual Hawaii card. Because if it was a dual Hawaii card, they would be using damn near every square centimeter of that PCB. Which the leaked photos show isn't happening.
But I could be wrong.
