I recently installed Windows 7 ultimate.The problem is that although I have 4 GB RAM installed(1 stick of RAM with 4 GB only,so I guess that there is no problem with the RAM),I have 2.2 GB RAM usable and Resource monitor shows that hardware reserved memory is 1818 MB.I have also run msconfig and made sure that max memory is unchecked.Could you guys provide any other solution?Below,the system information is given.

Looks like you installed the 32 bit version, so you will be limited in the memory that it can access.

Not always......... depends on how much the BIOS and Windows is setting aside in the upper memory addresses for hardware support.

About the max you'll get on 32 bit win7 is 3.3gigs, and depending on how much the onboard graphics is using that may be why you get 2.2 gigs. usually the APU uses 512MB for its graphics, but it could be set to 1 gig.

Why would you install the 32 bit version of Windows?

Did you pick the 32-bit version on purpose? Did you have some old legacy apps that won't work on 64-bit? The 64-bit version would have probably been the best bet to begin with, but if that isn't an option you're stuck with tweaking the PAE setting.

But before you go messing with the current PAE setting I'd recommend determining if it's already enabled or not. You can check in the registry;

If I recollect it can be found here;

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\PhysicalAddressExtension

If it is set to "1" that means true and PAE is enabled

If it is set to "0" that means that PAE is disabled.

Also from memory, in order for PAE enabled to stick, I believe that DEP needs to be enabled. Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm not remember correctly. Been on 64-bit for a few years now.
