i own and play both actively. Have 160hrs in bf4, 117 in cod ghosts.
I have always been a battlefield boy as aposed to cod as i originated from all the original bf series.
BF is always a team game, sure you can lone wolf it up but the help you get communicating as a squad and working together to achieve victory far exceeds some modes in COD.
COD team death match is a show of skill and rarely has a team working towards winning and rather is always about yourself being on top. Domination mode is very similar to conquest mode in bf but of course with no vehicles or ticket bleed rate and IS team based and can be fun working together.
Most stay away from COD due to its rep with team death match and mostly the ppl who boycott it on the forums after 1hr of multiplayer in tdm mode. Battlefield will always be my number 1 game for team play and overall satisfaction as it just offers so so much more and the progression system is very fun e.g. all the assignments and unlocks and now leaderboards/divisons for classes/weapons and everything.
I still really enjoy cod as i enjoy the fast paced gameplay as aposed to battlefield as sometimes i just don't enjoy all the bf maps as the action can become stale and i really enjoy the killstreak awards in cod especially the maniac
each to their own though and your choice to make.
if u like open map vehicle action: BF
fast paced infantry and killstreak rewards: COD
thats my opinion
