BF, COD and even the new hyped-to-death-generic-shooter Titanfall don't come close to the quality offered by Rising Storm.
I think rising storm is for a certain kind of person. It's a good game but it's nothing spectacular IMO. It's rather slow paced when compared to something like bf4 or COD. Some people love that. But some people also just like simple, quick and intense action. But I would always recommend someone to try rising storm since you can find it on sale for 7-10$ every once in a while. Worst case, you get a semi annual gaming session out of it.

^Rising Storm is epic if you're looking for actual thinking and strategy, recommended.

The bugginess of BF4 is extremely exaggerated at this point, almost everything has been fixed (though a little (very) late). its a good game worth buying.

COD ain't my cup of tea but if you like reaction based shooters then sure.

Titanfall beta i found to be shallow and boring gameplay-wise, i reckon it'll get old quickly but seems everyone else thinks the opposite...

Out of BF4 and any CoD, I would go with BF4. But that's just my preference. I stopped playing CoD a few iterations ago. It got boring to me and felt the same every year.

I've played BF1942, BF2, BF2142, BF3, and BF4, and I have enjoyed each. From back in November, I have been enjoying a smooth experience with BF4 thus far. I know many people have been complaining about issues and bugs with the game, and that's unfortunate. But my experience has been a good one and I haven't really had any problems with it.

BF4 is most fun when playing with a friend(s), no doubt. Though when I don't have a friend on to play with, going lone wolf isn't so bad. Just get in a squad when you're in the game and, even if you don't voice chat, you can do pretty well together. Or you can just go out by yourself and see what you're capable of by yourself.

Just personal preference on what you choose. There are also all the other games that others have already mentioned.

I own both CODG and BF4. They are equally headache prone.

I have bene playing stick of truth on my mediacenter, easily one of the most fun games I have played in a loooong time.

even though it is genre unrelated, it is one game that I am very happy to have purchased, whereas with cod and bf4, I was told I cant have my money back. lol.

That's a very arrogant statement to make.

What makes a game good 99% opinion.

BF3 is mediocre at best- this is my opinion.

If you like big, open map FPS, go BF4. If you like fast paced twitch shooting, go CoD. I have both, I only play BF4 when I want to play Conquest or Rush. They are very fun to play on occasion, but I would rather play games where one person can make a big difference in the outcome.

In BF4, if a player is in a vehicle and you don't have an anti-vehicle loadout on, there is nothing you can do. Not a fan of that kind of gameplay for my everyday game, nor was I in Unreal Tournament when you started with the worst gun possible and had to run around to collect better ones. If you ran into someone with a Flak Cannon and you had the Enforcer, you couldn't do anything. Not to mention sniping in BF is absolutely terrible. At 50 feet away the bullet travels about 2 feet per second and has an arc like you are throwing a baseball, and you only get a one shot if you hit them in the head, which based on the netcode and hit detection in the game, is pretty much luck. I have had people laying down on top of a hill above me, all I could see is their head, and I would get a hit marker.

When it comes to TDM and Domination and small game types like that without vehicles being a part of the game where one person can make a difference, CoD is much much better than BF. Time to Kill is better, sniping is viable, the movement and gameplay is smoother, and it has better game modes. It is a fun experience to be running around in Conquest and having Helicopters and Jets dropping bombs around, mortars going off, and trying to run through the map to an objective while all this is happening around you. I got sucked in and played BF4 for a few weeks and didn't play CoD at all. But eventually my competitive side got the better of me.

I'll have to disagree with the sniping in BF4 bit. My rounds travel as fast as they should and bullet drop seems as it should be. I've had no issues with hit detection when sniping, and it hits when it should with a well aimed shot.

Also, one person can make a big difference. But I guess that all depends on the player and how they're playing the round. Many times, I've held down a capture point by myself against several enemies. Although it does suck if a tank comes along and you've run out of rockets/C4, or your setup doesn't have anti-vehicle capabilities. Not much you can do then, beside get out without being seen, or stay hidden until they leave.
