Hey all.. i have a question..

I know you can use Trixx or AB to overclock your gpus.. but i'm wondering, once your happy with the overclocks, do you have to start either Trixx or AB at startup all the time to keep the setting or go to CCC and set it and forget it?

Another thing.. i have been reading some old treads that GPUTool are great for testing the OC but i haven't get that program working.. so i just went with Valley or 3DMark... is that great enough for testing the overclocks?

And lastly... which program (Trixx or MSI AB) do you uses to overclocks your gpus? And pls state why?

Thanks for you time to answer and cheers.gif

I used Trixx back in the day with my 7970's because they were Sapphire's and Trixx allowed more voltage than did AB. I believe you can set Trixx to run on startup so that you don't have to manually set your OC each time but I always do it manually myself as I only OC my cards for benching.

I see, so you don't have your cards overclocked 24/7 then?

What is the reasonable voltage to overclock it without degrading the gpus?

No, I have two Titans which have no problem maxing games at stock clocks. I didn't really OC my 7970's either as they were powerful enough to game with at stock as well. As long as you keep temps under control your GPU shouldn't degrade fast enough to really worry about but then every GPU is different. I used 1381mV with my 7970's if memory serves with no issues but as I said, this wasn't 24/7...

Hmm.. my gpus are underwater btw.. so i just like to overclock it and set it.. so i can overcome anything i throw at.. but i don't want to kill it as well..

HIS 7970Ghz Edition, Stock - 1050 mhz / 1500 mem
I know that i had it overclocked at 1100 mhz at stock volt no problem... i'm trying to get stable at 1200mhz.. the volt has been climbing up toward1.35 so far.. not stable..still testing.. i just want to be safe without bricking the cards. rolleyes.gif

Best I could get in CF with my 7970's was 1225MHz under water as well. But I didn't need that for gaming...

I see, what was the voltage u used at that time? i cannot get stable volt going.. hmm

1381mV I believe. Max for Trixx at the time but this was in 2012...
