Isnt every fan placement a "push/pull" set up?

Thread Starter
I thought every fan config in a case would be push pull since you need to push in air into the case and pull it out.
but in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6aDID5S41_A
when i was watching it, it just seems like its also push pull. (push air in from his "intake" in the front and pushes air out from his "exhaust" in the back and top") just as he said it
but at around 5:28, he says
"i dont go push pull cuz its not necessary"

but it looks like his is push pull, and also to me it just seems like every fan config is a push pull config.

Push/pull almost always refers to mounting two fans together; as an example, you can have a radiator:

:0:

^with four fans on it, two pushing air into it from one side, the other two pulling air through it from the other side.

This is done on high PPI radiators and thick radiators because it can increase heat transfer to air by by a significant amount (over 1.3x in some cases AFAIK) or improve cooling to noise ratio in some cases, though it's sometimes done on thinner rads or clc's like h100i for a little boost, as well as on some heatsinks

What ''Cyro999'' said,push/pull is for radiators and some cpu heatsinks....With push/pull on rads you can run your fans at slower rpm depending on the amount of rads you run and it also performs about 10-30% better depending on rads/fans used....

Its all relative to the context used. A fan without changing its blowing direction can be classified as either push or pull depending on the point of reference (such as on a radiator and which side its on).
