Water cooling question.

So I had a question in regards to my asus 770 and EK water blocks. Sometime last year I remember EK having issues with the water blocks an stuff. Are they still avoid at all costs? if so, what other block could I use for this card? It's the GTX770-DC2OC-2GD5. Thanks!

Edit: I should add I'm also thinking about trying out water cooling so any must have tips would be awesome.

I'm not sure, I haven't used an EK block ever. But I know in the past there was a big giant thread of people complaining about the poor electroplating job done by whoever EK got to do it for them. I'm not even sure if EK Eddy is still here. Some people just had the electroplating redone at a local shop. Not sure about their current electroplating job now.

That's what it was the whole electroplating fiasco. I was gonna water cool during that time but i got a bit nervous after the electroplating thing.

The problem happened with blocks manufactured in the first half of 2011 and earlier, and was resolved when EK switched to a different plating process around September 2011 give or take a month. Anything since then will be marked as "EN" nickel plating and is just as good as plated blocks from any other manufacturer.
