There is no such thing as a BIOS just for LN2.

LN2 BIOS just uses all the power phases, hence the PCB is working at its full potential that is it.

Heck I use LN2 BIOS on air all the time.

If there was a thing as a BIOS designed just for LN2, then it would have to feature very High Clocks & Vcore by default.

No Card I am aware of till this date has been sold with such a BIOS..

Doesen't the LN2 bios also turn off all kinds of protections, such as overheat, overcurrent etc.?

Ahmm.
I think it does.
But I am not too sure about it.

Edit:- Although those protections turning off shouldn't affect you unless you push the voltage too high.
Which is not recommended on AIR anyways.

If you are hovering around 1.3V (air) or 1.4V (water), those things wouldn't matter.

I would have given a more definitive answer but I am currently at work.

what i was trying to convey is you can't really dismiss the gpu oc capability even when using ln2 bios if the cooling medium is other than ln2. although, silicon lottery still stands even with the lightning.

Hey guys got some more figures from my 290x L on AIR Ln2 bios. (asic 71.4)

Idle stock voltage is 0.961v (0.86v - 0.89v on DMM)

100% load stock volts 1.146v - 1.172v (1.21v on DMM) at 1000Mhz can run 1500 mem stock memory volts

Idle volts +100 Mv 1.055v (0.98v on DMM)

100% load + 100 Mv 1.232v - 1.257v (1.30v on DMM) at 1140Mhz can run 1500 mem stock memory volts

Idle violts +200 Mv 1.156v(1.07v on DMM)

100% load +200 Mv 1.320v - 1.329v (1.39v - 1.40v on DMM) at 1200Mhz can run 1625 mem with +44 in AB (1.594v)

My memory maxed out at 1625 at 1.594v (+44 Mv on memory in AB) with +200Mv core offset

I notice something strange tho after i went from 13.12 to 14.3 or 4 cant remember then back to 13.12, my Vrm 2 temp got stuck at 80c in GPU-z while on 14.3 or 4 then when i went back to 13.12 its stuck at 55c and does not move at all i'm not sure why i assume program error.

Also i now know for a fact OC on these has a lot to do with the temps and i
don't just mean keeping them low every time.
If go higher in temp say from 40c to 50c it will artifact at volts that can run at 40c same when it goes from
50 to 60 and 60 to 70 my max i can hit 1260 on core at 40c but after it goes over 50c it artifacts no matter what bench tool,
then i drop mhz or up volts and get same thing as temp goes over 50 and so on up to 70 i want water but i dont want to lose warranty.

Yes, I agree that leaving it disabled is best. Only reason I asked him to check in CCC is to verify that power limit was in fact adjusting. However, having CCC installed on startup does not effect anything in a negative way. Only when Overdrive is enabled and mixing with other software are there issues.

EK Block is now available at PPC's. Surprised to say it's $157.99. There is an extra cooling lane- http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=59_971_240_579&products_id=40555

Yeah, I agree. That price tag is usually reserved for dual gpu blocks. However, no other manufact. is making one and unfortunately a universal doesn't match the overall cooling capability.

...that price is nuts eek.gif - way more than my dual-gpu 7990 EK copper blocks were...like Mikecdm says, I'll just be sticking w/ my uni-blocks
