Gtx 770 sli or one gtx 780? - Page 6

: / Well... as I said before when one buys a graphics card you buy a ticket to the lottery. You may get a great card that overclocks well despite perceived limitations. Stock cards are the most easy to find card on the planet but the reason why I ruled them out in my head was because I was thinking about the air cooler on them.

I think I will conclude by saying I recomend EVGA, a 780 will be good for 3 monitors, and a reference card will be easy to SLI due to availability and compatibility with other manufacturers.

And yes a 780 Ti is cool but it can't justify its price for its performance and OP said he didn't want one.

I made a calculation of how much you were paying pr. fps (made it with danish prices so i wont link it) But you are paying around 3 dollars more pr fps with a 780 Ti over a 780 (took alot of benchmarks from guru3d, and anandtech, put the numbers in a list and added them up to a average fps, then divived it with the price)

Nice! price per fps is always good thing to calculate, this will be helpful in the future and now smile.gif

Trust me, you're gonna want to do that once you slap a water block on it. thumb.gif

A 780ti is a bit faster, but also around 150-200 more. Unlocked 780s could beat or at least get close to locked 1.212v 780ti, unless you get a Classy or Kingpin 780ti. If you go 780SLI, it would destroy a single 780ti and cost much less than 2 of them, while giving you basically the same gaming performance.
ordered asus gtx 780 dcii oc today, great price and nice looking card biggrin.gif the voltage is locked to same 1.212V but if I need I'll go past that. smile.gif
I'm probably going to get another gtx 780 later on but didn't choose Ti because its high price tongue.gif

Trust me, you're not missing out on much by not getting the ti. With that card at 1.212 you'll be just fine. Add another down the road and you won't need to upgrade in a long time.
