Yeah, the reason I'm not holding my breath is that bf4 is very mainstream so if it suffers from this issue at 4k these less popular and less patched games likely will go unfixed. Especially considering far cry 3 has been out so long, it's not like 4k res was just invented. 290x for 4K anyone?

It's starting to feel like nvidia wasn't/isn't ready for 4k. Who would think raising the resolution would make half my games cease to function properly.

Well just to point out what i think is obvious....Was your video card marketed as 4k Compatible on the box? If it was i would have some beef. I know it states its the highest supported resolution, but maybe not highest supported gaming resolution.

Are any cards marketed toward 4k? Haven't seen it on the box of any. I don't see a difference between highest resolution and highest gaming resolution, if the game will go into 4k then I assume it will work at 4k. Also when drivers release specifically for watchdogs and in said drivers both 4k and sli are mentioned multiple times, I assume at least one soul has tried it first.

Well, The R9 290's are marketed for 4K. And http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814139058 has a displayport but it wouldn't run 4k very well if at all.

Example. The Haswell Core i5 next to me in this lenovo Thinkcentre mini has a 4600 HD intel integrated, but hooking up my 4k monitor to it worked good until going to youtube or googling images yielded flickering. ( This was on DP)

And to look further into this this gtx 680 doesn't even have 4k as a resolution supported:

Just to add with my 780 Ti in D3 any vsync i actually get Consistent tearing 60% down from the top of the screen. Not sure why but i'm sure its the drivers. My point is that they weren't ready, but also they didn't say they were.

Lol man, I've got the horsepower for 4k, my issue is in the drivers/sli. I can run crysis 3 pretty well at 4k so I figure a console port should work.

So are you going to blame the nvidia drivers? Which are usually pretty good. Or the fact that its been ported from a machine that runs it at 720P?

Also you said you have GTX 670'S if they are the 2GB variant. With Watch Dogs that is probably your issue. If they are 4GB it is likely drivers.

I'll leave this here. 57 FPS on ultra at 1600P with a 780 Ti.

I've monitored my VRAM usage and I haven't broke 2000mb of my 2048 available so no that's not it. And yes it is a driver issue, sli on doesn't work, sli off works. Not to mention a week ago we couldn't even enable sli, this monitors been out since early April. Eariler I disabled sli so I could play watchdogs for a bit and the drivers committed suicide where I had to reboot to recover, that's the second it's done that on these drivers. Guess I'm asking for at lot here.

Thanks for the link but who uses max AA at 1600 or 2160p? These benches are useless.

True about the monitor release, but they might have been trying to get it to work with MST on the dell 24" and the 32" models and here comes the SST now causing issues.

Yeah I'm not a compete idiot, I keep an eye on all my usages so I can tell if I don't have the horsepower for it or the problem is elsewhere.
