Wanted a 780ti but for $250 more I just can't justify the 0-5% performance difference plus less memory.....got the 290x for $500 plus the free games and portable power brick. Haven't had amd in some time, can't tell if I'm excited or scared.

I tried a few games in 4K, with a single GTX 780 @ 1346/7400MHz

with a single gpu, many games maxed out @ 2160p + FXAA-SMAA, have good / excellent performance.
For example ...
Skyrim maxed, Borderlands 2 maxed + phsyx low, Borderlands maxed, Stalker Maxed, Dishonored maxed, Rage Maxed , Resident Evil 4, 5, 6 maxed, .Divinity 2 Maxed, tSonic Generation, Sonic all stars racing Transofrmed ,Trine 1-2, Tomb Raider various, GTA4 , Deus Ex Human Revolution Maxed
Last Tomb Raider, Ultra, No TRessFX, 40-50fps,.
Alan Wake Maxed + MSAA2x, 40 - 50fps , Outlast Maxed 50-60fps

28"...that's a little too big. What are the chances of having 4k in anything smaller than 28"?

Nabbo, how do you find the colors?

I'm still really impressed with the colors. I expected to lose some IQ when gaming vs my PB278Q but I did not.

Somehow either I didnt notice, or between then and the night of the 31st magically appeared this defect:

That is a 400% zoom of a macro photo I took on a 15 megapixel camera... Being generous to neighboring pixels I count between 23 and 26 dead pixels, all one contiguous area.

The monitor was sold as "Perfect Pixel" which their policy went on to explain meant at most one or two dead pixels and not next to each other. It also had a 1 year warranty, not sure how many pixels that covers.

So on June 1st I contacted them. I open so few cases, I just clicked "item not as received" and didnt realize it would go right to a case. Do cases still count against these vendors regardless of their resolution? Anyway, their return policy is 14 days. And theyre kinda questioning why I didn't notify them earlier. Um, how about, its a 4K monitor and thats like 8 million pixels, and it looks like manufacturing residue left inside the panel anyway that dislodged - the outside of the panel is without blemish. Maybe I got lucky and the defect happened in the 14 day period? Maybe it was like that when I left the positive feedback and I somehow missed it on my perpetually cluttered windows desktop?

Either way, it shouldn't have to be my problem.

I don't want to name the vendor (yet) but they have 99.2% feedback at ~13,000. And digging back over 12 months I now notice one or two complaints about knock off or refurbished hardware... sigh.

As it happens I was following the discussion here before I made my purchase so I thought I'd post this here and get the forums opinion: I would like a complete refund. Should this vendor have to pay the return shipping for this item? I'm very tempted to name them, but if they play nice and email me a return services label to print maybe I'll let it slide...

I just exchanged my monitor with the same defect at best buy. It was fine for two weeks. I turned it on one morning and noticed a spot similar to the one in the picture you posted. I hope this doesn't become a common problem with this particular monitor.
