Samsung 4K 1ms monitor $754 it has begun - Page 129

For those who experience occasional horizontal lines, kinda like artifacts, white lines etc, make sure your display port cable is all the way in and it doesn't wiggle around. There was a post here about that and can confirm that really putting the cable in fixed it for me, haven't had any lines since. For power issues/standby, installing the samsung display port driver fixed the issues for me and now monitor works great.

How does 1080p 1400p look on this monitor is it blurry like 720p on 1080p monitors.
Yup. smile.gif See the interpolation section of my review for more on that.

Not allowed to do that. Google 'Samsung U28D590D review' and it should be the first or second result depending on your location. My avatar will give you a clue as to the site name. smile.gif

All i can say is you know your stuff!

...

Honest question was it worth getting this for Gaming,
post #1287 of 1323
I was given the unit as a loan from Samsung (a review sample). If I'm honest I do actually quite miss gaming at '4K'. redface.gif My single GTX 780 didn't really have enough grunt to drive the resolution, but if you've got enough GPU power to drive the resolution I think it can provide a really enjoyable gaming experience.

I really look forward to testing my next '4K' monitor, not sure exactly what that will be yet. smile.gif

Seems like it will be on sale after October 10, 2014. Look for more information on or after that date (-;

So I'm at 4k resolution....but on the desktop it doesn't seem like it even though it says it in NVCP and my monitor settings. It seems more like 2560x1440 or something (for reference I have a Dell U3011 so I can easily tell). One time I checked the monitor resolution and it was indeed set at 2560x1440. I changed it to 4k and could immediately tell the difference...for one the text was noticeably smaller.

Now though...it seems to be be back to what I said in my first sentence. Everything is telling me it's at 4K but it doesn't look like it...

Seems like they could have revised it from then until now.

Edit: I can't believe I was this dumb. The text issue only seems to be happening in Chrome. I opened up a few work files in excel word and powerpoint and text is much crisper than what's going on when I browse online. Also used IE and opened ocn same page side by side and IE was definitely sharper and easier to read.

Hi dboythagr8,
and phallacy,

Did either of you try anything with "ClearType Tuning"?
I am researching this monitor and some reviewers have BGR subpixel layout instead of the normal RGB...
